disagree with your argument. My argument is Lane Kiffin showed up in Oxford and these conservative boosters knew Moorehead couldn't match up with the excitement of LK. You have your narrative, I have mine.

Is that why Cohen went to Billy Napier first and the moron turned Cohen down?

It wasn’t Lane that made MSU want Moorhead gone. It was the absolute bonehead he was and had completely lost control of the program. And his accolades past MSU head coaching evidences we were correct.

Two things that are good for MSU now. Cohen is gone and we fired Moorhead when we did. We would have been in a good spot if Leach hadn’t died.

Wait a minute, we're so obsessed about ole miss, we fire a coach that was 2-0 against ole mis JUST to make a splash hire to keep up with ole miss? That's the angle you're going for?

Because if he survived Thanksgiving weekend, you can't fire someone without cause in early December. He needed the bowl game and fight to be an excuse to move on from him.

So we told Willie gay to beat up Garrett Schrader so we could fire Moorhead? And then purposefully get blown out in the bowl game? It was all planned? My mind is blown. Schrader got the shitty end of that deal

No joke. I don’t see what Leach saw in a freshman Rogers to just let Schrader waltz out the door.

Thanks for making my point. Had zilch to do with Lane Kiffin or Ole Miss. Fans were pissed when he wasn't fired right after the Egg.

Yeah, he ended up making the point for us. He's got cowbell trauma or something. State all up in his dome.

WTF are you talking about? The fight just made the press conferenc easier.

"Why did you fire Joe?"

"We weren't happy with his team management."

Instead of:

"shite, Ole Miss got Kiffin. We need to do something".

Fighting hasn't bothered yall before. Jeffrey Simmons, Redardo Sidney, etc.

SI

quote:

Events over the last month—off-the-field issues and the ugly bowl loss—have shifted an original plan to keep Moorhead following a 21-20 win over Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl on Thanksgiving night.

quote:

Moorhead’s second season included losses to rebuilding programs like Kansas State and Tennessee and an embarrassing outing at Auburn. All of it came amid troubling circumstances. Ten players missed eight games this season while suspended for academic fraud involving a tutor

quote:

More off-the-field issues crept up in December. A group of players missed bowl practice, and Shrader was involved in a fight during one practice. He sustained serious enough injuries that he was unable to start the bowl game,

Yeah, it’s all just a conspiracy. Everything is about Ole Miss.

No one said this. The point is Lane Kiffin affected the decison making at State. If that wasn't relevant, JM would have been fired on black Friday. A locker room fight isn't enough to fire a coach.

Holy shite man. I’ll try one more time to make this as easy to understand as possible:

quote:

JM would have been fired on black Friday

From the article I literally just linked:
quote:

Black Friday is the day after thanksgiving, not sure if you’re aware of that.

quote:

A locker room fight isn't enough to fire a coach.

As it said in the article, the fight was one of several factors that displayed lack of institutional control on Moorhead’s part. But I guess all of the articles from major publications/John Cohens literal speech don’t mean anything. The word of “HottyToddy7” is gospel it comes to all things Mississippi state. And he has no evidence other than because he says so.

You are purposely missing the point. The stuff about losing the team was there before the egg bowl. The only 2 things different pre and post egg bowl were a locker room fight and LK being hired.

This isn’t a hard concept,

No I think it’s more that your point is a very unsubstantiated and conjecture-filled point

"Being the head coach at Mississippi State is the opportunity of a lifetime," Lebby said.

Interesting how he left Clemson for Okie and both teams got worse.

Except that Renardo Sidney and the fight with Elgin Bailey led to the indefinite suspension for both and part of the reason for the dismissal of Stansbury as head coach.

And Stansbury had absolutely owned Ole Miss.. so that kinda throws ice water on your position.

And you folks can officially stop acting outraged about Simmons. His first call the second MSU would have moved on his scholly would have been Hugh Freeze.

It is your super bowl. It is a game we would rather play in September and be done with. HUGE HUGE difference.

This type of arrogance (delusion) right here is what makes the rivalry so fun to me. Y'all think your program is superior to MSU's because you had success in the 50s and 60s, far before most of us were born. The last conference championship you won was the year after Ole Miss was integrated. Over the past 30 years or so, our programs really haven't been that different. It ebbs and flows, man. Right now y'all are up and we're down. It won't always be that way. And it can swing much more quickly in today's college football.

So again, I always laugh when I hear OM fans say shite like this.

"We don't give a frick about State."

"Egg Bowl is your Super Bowl."

"We should play State in September."

Y'all work pretty fricking hard to convince people how much you don't care.

We realize that giving a shite about yall just pulls us down. We are more worried about beating LSU/Auburn/Alabama. We should handle the Egg Bowl every year. Lane is a 2 point conversion from being 4-0 in that game.

This is what you tell yourselves 51 weeks out of the year. But when Egg Bowl week rolls around, it’s pretty obvious who your main rival truly is.
