I always thought Elko was going to be the pick but I can totally see Robinson being the hire because that’s who the players want

Elko almost certainly keeps ERob as his DC. I think he has to turn it down to get Elijah but who knows

If so Texas AM is taking the LSU approach when it comes to caving to the players.

Besides 2019 that backfired big time.

I just can’t see Texas AM firing Jimbo only to hire someone who has only ever been a DL coach.

Robinson can recruit better than most HC’s. Give him some great coordinators and see what he can do.

Would be a colossal mistake letting the players have any say in the hire. Most are there for only 1 or 2 more years anyway, can’t let them decide the future of the program.

Sure some might leave but that’s going to happen with any coaching change.

Why tf would you pay Jimbo 76 million only to promote the dl coach

If it’s Robinson, I think Deion could’ve gotten the TAMU job had he stayed at JSU one more season.

If it gets to Elijah it would be a disappointing outcome. We will also keep our roster together and continue to recruit at a very high level. I won't be too optimistic but had no interest in locking us into 6 years of Mark Stoops.

We have seen Texas AM recruit at an amazing level for awhile now.

Yes, hiring Robinson might keep the current program afloat in terms of avoiding a mass exodus, but these type of things never end well.

This is setting up to be a mega failure for Texas AM

Listened to ERob pressers, and he is impressive. I think he could just be a great coach if given the right resources. And he loves A&M

If they keep Robinson then A&M fans better not show up to one game next year. That’s the absolute worst hire you can make in this situation.

Bjork did the same thing with Matt Luke at Ole Miss and it almost cratered our program until we thankfully got the new AD in that hired Kiffin

Isn’t hiring great coordinators the goal of every head coach?

I have tried to tell them this but the rant doesnt listen.

Elijah's ability to charm the recruits families and put them at ease combined with massive NIL money is a big win.

Jimbo had to go. Period. There were issues arising beyond shitty win/loss records.

He’s never been more than a position coach.

aTm is taking a big risk hiring someone with his resume to run the program.

Sure, you can point to Clemson and say Dabo was never more than a position coach, but he’s the exception to the rule.

With Aggie expectations they can’t end up with their D line coach.
