My guess is it will be Elko, with Robinson as the DC

I’d sign up for that. The question is whether or not Elko and Robinson would sign up for that.

Because If not, this is aggravating as shite.

What are the chances that Stoops just declined, and this was not about a revolt?

Robinson seems to be very well spoken even if it is the requisite coach speak. Orgeron, not so much. If the job were communications director, its Robinson all day as I believe he actually has experience in that role. Qualified to be a head coach? Ehhhh.

I agree. Like I said, I don't want him. Just saying I don't think he's the same guy. He is impressive and has a bright future. He will be a head coach somewhere in the future.

I know it’s not really about LSU, but it sure is suspect that they threw the bank at Fisher after LSU was debating whether to fire Miles and try to poach Fisher, and now they’re technically taking step 1 to replicate the 2019 LSU run.

In the swc/big 12 it was always about big bro which was texas

in the sec its lsu.

between printing cups, printing pictures, john chavis, fisher, interim d line coach, recruits they hate us but their entire identity is wrapped up in us so they emulate us

No one knows how any of this will turn out. ER is knowns as an elite recruiter and leader of men. I also thought his game management was good in both the games he coached. The question is really what’s his vision and do you believe he can execute it. The first part you can glean from an interview (who would he target for a staff, how he would organize recruiting) but with no track record you have no idea if he can execute.

Besides 2019 that backfired big time.

Not really, his teams did relatively well and got progressively better each year until he stopped giving a shite.

6-2
9-4
10-3
15-0

Also, this is my first time hearing that the players forced his hire.

Link?

This is the most important hire in A&M history. You can not let the players influence this hire. That is how you go from underachieving to a full blown disaster.

O ran into trouble when he actually had to do some roster management and made a couple bad coordinator hires.

He was fine when he inherited a put together roster and was able to motivate them with good coordinators. As soon as the coordinators left and he was responsible for evals, development, etc the wheels fell off. That’s why Kelly inherited such a terrible roster.

Paying Jimbo 75 mill just to hire his DL coach might be the most wasteful use of money I've ever seen in my life

Agree here. Big bro is coming in and coming in with hype because they have a hot name head coach, possible playoff appearance etc.
Any advantage on head start in the SEC that Aggie has/had is about to be gone.

NIL is holding them hostage though. They paid players a ton of money. When young people are paid a ton of money they make rash decisions when they feel disrespected…..

So the day after Jimbo was canned, you were
going to be happy with ERob?

I agree, he left a huge rebuild for BK. I was just pointing out that his teams actually did well years 1-4 and that he wasn’t a locker room hire.

I'm hearing reports of Elijah Robinson is putting together a binder and has hired Billy Lucci as assist to the head coach.

LSU hired O...

been there done that!

At that time I wanted Jimbo so badly... I really thought Jimbo will kill it at LSU...

I agree it shouldn’t be influenced by the players. Thats lack of leadership if it’s the reason he’s hired.

This is a big mistake. Recruiting rules and additional responsibilities prevent the head coach from being the recruiter he once was.

He probably would have.

You are forgetting the key point.

We are LSU.

They are TAMU.
