I don’t think it is as bad as you think. They had a bad culture and a horrible strength and conditioning program but I think the talent is there to win 10 games.

With all the players out and the turmoil 3 games were lost by under a TD. Win those 3 plus the bowl, I see 10-3 as very plausible next year.

Not saying it will happen and that’s what it takes to make me happy but I don’t think it is out of the realm of possibility.

I think everyone understands next year is probably more of an 8-5 type season
Look at the schedule. 9 regular season wins is more than attainable with competent coaching.

I don't think O left it in a terrible place. Dude just lacked the systematic discipline needed to handle the adversity that will be seen week in and week out in the SEC.

Kelly is walking in the door with more talent than he had at ND.

I feel that implementing his system (not x's and o's) and expectations will make this team better Day 1.

Harbaugh at Michigan is a decent comparison. Took him longer than expected to get his guys and program in place but now they're in the playoffs.

dude is in his seventh season at Michigan.

Don’t act like he finally righted the ship and got it all figured out just because he finally beat Ohio State.

Considering how we played in the last 4 games, especially on defense, I would not be surprised if we see results next season.

He gets an 8-5 mulligan first year. After that, he should be winning 10-11 games year in and year out

Not on the OL/TE.

We desperately need the portal there.

Are you his mom? Kelly didnt sign on to get a participation trophy. No doubt in my mind he expects to win. He is entering a pressure cooker, but he has winning experience at the ultimate pressure cooker school. Get out of here with your beta mind set.

Yeah I said the same yesterday. Next year is a rebuild. I think (and I thought this before Kelly was even on the radar) that next year 9-3 would be a damn strong year for whoever the new coach might be.

I do expect a huge jump in year 2.

LSU had enough talent to beat A&M and nearly beat a top 4 currently Bama team (even if it isn't a good BAMA team by their standards). The talent is there to compete starting next year, and they did this without their best offensive player in Boutte and an OC that is a moron.

Culture changes are a good thing. I think there are a ton of team first mentality guys on this squad, and it will make them better overall. O couldn't manage the egos, and that was one of his major flaws as a head coach, because he couldn't even control his own.

Here's the schedule. LSU should be 4-0 heading to the Auburn game. 8-5 would require a 4-5 finish. I doubt that happens. In addition to the 4 non-conference games LSU should beat Miss State, Ole Miss, and Tenn. Splitting the rest gets 9-3 or 10-2. A 10 win season is in reach, not a pipe dream., with the improvement in coaching.

Sunday, Sept. 4 — vs. Florida State (New Orleans)

Saturday, Sept. 10 — vs. Southern University

Saturday, Sept. 17 — vs. Mississippi State

Saturday, Sept. 24 — vs. New Mexico

Saturday, Oct. 1 — at Auburn

Saturday, Oct. 8 — vs. Tennesseee

Saturday, Oct. 15 — at Florida

Saturday, Oct. 22 — vs. Ole Miss

Saturday, Oct. 29 — BYE

Saturday, Nov. 5 — vs. Alabama

Saturday, Nov. 12 — at Arkansas

Saturday, Nov. 19 — vs. UAB

Saturday, Nov. 26 — at Texas A&M

We have some pretty good OL committed, and a pretty highly regarded TE prospect in Johnson. It's not all that bad.

Can you all just imagine what having a competent offensive coaching staff would have done with this year's team?
