I think a lot of LSU fans will find shite to bitch about. Let the man complete a season or find another team to follow in 2017, might I suggest Texas
This line of thinking is why Alleva thought it would be ok to hire a 55 year old career dline coach to run a program.

But did any of them have me?

I feel like you missed the entire point of this....
1 time in the history of the AP Poll, a coach who started his career with less than 30% winning percentage won a national title. And that doesn't concern how exactly?

I had a Pro O guy tell me his Ole Miss record doesn't matter because it was a decade ago.

The battle of public opinion is just getting started.

Not debunking anything or siding with Coach O either.
In some cases a coach did not inherit a "bare cupboard" (Jimbo Fisher).
Some coaches first stint was not the SEC West, some started out at minor programs (Urban Meyer).

Then
Like I said, there's probably a 0% chance O makes a playoff, much less an NC game, much less wins it.
He is not that kind of coach. He's never proven it, never shown it, and no amount of "learning from mistakes" will make him that way.

While i appreciate the post, sadly, no one who wanted to hire O, alleva included, did any research. I don't expect them to start now.

It seems clear Alleva never read Meat Market - otherwise he would have been a little less gaga about the binder.

Based on this, only 1 NC winning coach had a worse 3 year start than O...Bill McCartney at Colorado.

I honestly believe he has learned and will be a better coach than he was at Ole Miss. I want all O supporters to know that.
But to realistically think a guy can go from complete failure to ELITE is nearly unheard of. I don't care what field you are in. Business, Gangster, Monk, or Football Coach...it just doesn't happen.

I don't have an argument for either side, but the first thing I noticed was that Chizik, Mack Brown and Tressel are all towards the very bottom of the list. They all won championships.

Yup.

Tressel was a truly solid coach who grew in stature before he arrived at tOSU. Chizik and Mack owe their championships to Vince Young and Cam Newton.

I actually think Chizik is the perfect comparison to O. Now if we can just find the next Cam Newton, we should be good to go. Please be on the lookout.

So what you're saying is there's still a chance

Mark Twain said there are 3 kinds of lies: (1) lies; (2) damn lies; and (3) statistics. While some may find your numbers compelling, I try to look past the numbers. For instance, What happens if you look at first year results only? Or 5th year results only? Or years one and five. My guess is that I could manipulate the years and get a much different result.
Or how many coaches had better than 50% winning in first 3 years and never won? Does that mean we should not hire a guy with better than 50% winning? Lies and statistics.

You are way over complicating. Its a very very simple analysis. Coaches who originally suck, don't grow enough in their coaching abilities to win an NC.
Nothing more, nothing less.
