But feel free to check the rest for me.

No thanks

I just remember that most LSU fans had no clue who Saban was beyond "the guy Dinardo beat in the independence bowl." So it wasn't like he had been kicking arse year in and year out up at Michigan State.

Oh for the days when we had intelligent leadership in the athletic department.

I guess this begs the question "why fire Miles in the first place" though.

Because no superstar head coach wants to take over a program right after their championship head coach was fired for not living up to par. Most coaches don't want that pressure right away. With the O buffer, that solves that issue.

Not sure about your data. Saban's 1st three years as HC were 21-13. Toledo-- 9-2, then 6-5 and 6-6 at Mich st. Not 22-3 like you posted.
Saban Coaches GM record.

So basically, good coaches were good from the beginning...Elite coaches were elite from the beginning. Coach O isn't a good coach.

Not sure stats agree. Saban is elite now. His first 3 years he averaged over 4 losses a year.

Miles was hired by LSU at a pivotal time (after Saban) and had a record of 28-21 as a headcoach. Who would have guessed he would then go 114-34 at LSU.
