And Lester, I hate that I have to say disparaging things about Orgeron's resume because he's a great asset to LSU right now as DL coach and recruiter and I appreciate the interim job he's doing, but it just worries me how many people (not you) have him as their #1 choice.
That is insane to me. I don't think there's a logical argument to have him in your top 10 targets.
LSU won't revert to Curley years with him, but we aren't going to competing for championships every year in my opinion.

Exactly.. He has done well and does deserve another chance.. Not at Lsu though.. Let him build a mid major up.. And if our next HC doesn't work out and O loves Lsu and I'd doing well as a HC at a smaller program then maybe he gets it. Right now as happy as I am that he's done well he has t done enough to land one of the best jobs in the country

What is the deal with Jimbo's family? is he divorced?

His wife Candi cheated on him (at least once) with an ex-Florida WR. They had a nasty divorce. She lives in Tallahassee still.
They also have a special needs child, which complicates things.

This whole process has gone badly sideways. I hate that our local media are so easily swayed by flattery and access instead of caring about the better interests of LSU. These interests demand we hire the best possible head coach. A coach who has already shown the ability to build and maintain a program.
How the hell are fans so easily duped by someone who is just reading their talking points back to them? By a guy who has never once maximized talent of a team he was the head coach?
Insert "I feel like I'm taking crazy pills" meme

I am neutral on the search but perhaps much like what happened in the presidential election, I am getting tired of all the negativity ..fan bias if you will..aimed at Coach O
This.
For O to be considered the top candidate he needed to win the SEC, which was still achievable we he took over. He didn't accomplish that, but he's done a good enough job to be plan C or plan D, in my opinion.
The negativity from people because he's still a part of the process is ridiculous. They would be the same one's whining if the brass ran O off and didn't end up landing one of the other top candidates. They would also bitch and moan if the brass burnt the bridge with O early and he didn't stay on as DL coach.

, he has said & done all the right things.
Eh here's my issue with that, it's pretty clear he's been pandering saying the things people have been saying about Les for years and it's worked well for him. I mean a clock management coach? Really? Where was he for the Bama game by the way?
It's phony and he's just trying to make the sale.

We have a winner. And he has to do these things because his resume is terrible.
And it's going to work.

And to add to this, there was someone in a thread who quoted Freeze two weeks ago.
Yes, someone used a Hugh Freeze comment as support that we should hire O.

If LSU hires O, many in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa would be laughing their arse off knowing their strangle hold on LSU will continue.

Baton Rouge sports media is perhaps the worst in the country of being a collection of dumbassses. Hanny, and Ott are good that's it. New Orleans media covering LSU are much better.

I'm about to get pretty obnoxious about the whole deal I'm sure. We have a great opportunity.. I will paint the bell tower and grounds if I must.

It's sad how insecure our fan base is....
You know what those in Tuscaloosa and Birmingham are laughing at? How inside our fan bases heads they are.
Why do we as a fan base have to fight over who is #1 or #2 on our wish list? Personally, I'll be happy with either O, Fisher, or Herman. Who cares where I rank them?
What really gets me is our "fans" who left the bama game with a smile on their face because that hurt Orgerons chances. And believe me, I witnessed it. Those same fans are likely hoping we lose one of the next two games for the same reason and don't want a sugar bowl.
