at some point people opposing O are going to have to come up with a better defense then "he wasnt good 10 years ago" if they want people to take them seriously

What's the justification for removing the only time he actually ran a program? I'll hang up and listen.

at some point the pro O crowd will need to show legitimate reasons as to why they believe he's a better candidate over the long haul than the other guys on the list.

Please list the comparisons between the Ole Miss football program and LSU program

Is this a joke?

He has one job on his resume as head coach. And he was fricking terrible. He's never been a coordinator either.

What else should we judge him by?

He was worse at Ole Miss than both his predecessor and successor. Houston Nutt took Orgeron's 0-8 SEC team to a Cotton Bowl win.

Proves what we know. He can recruit (although not as well as Freeze) and he was an absolutely horrible head coach.

If opposing fans like your coach, then you're hiring the wrong coach. You want them to hate your coach.

Well I don't have any reason to believe he's much better than he was back then. All he's done is taken a couple of loaded teams and won some games with them. He had a chance to really prove his worth as a coach vs Bama and he did squat.

His expectations at OM were to win 6-8 games a year. He avg'd 3. Not 10 games like at LSU.

Obviously they are not comparable, but your resume is relative to the expectations at the school you are at.

Thats pretty obvious to everyone else.

How about he lacks the two basic qualifications you look for? A history of building\maintaining a winning program or a premiere football mind.

The way people for Orgeron talk they think coaching a top cfb program is like managing an Olive Garden

You mean they shouldn't refer to his only actual experience of being a head coach? Being an executive is a lot more than overseeing the team for a few games.

so he recruited the guys Nutt won with..got it

Ole Miss with Freeze is not the same program it was before or after CEO.

They still do not have the facilities, recruiting grounds, and $ to pay coaches that LSU does

What LSU fans specialize in is hating this coach or that one. If as much energy was put into actually supporting the team, staying for a full game, T.S. would be back to what it used to be. I am neutral on the search but perhaps much like what happened in the presidential election, I am getting tired of all the negativity ..fan bias if you will..aimed at Coach O. ALL that he has done is to work his butt off for the betterment of LSU & the players & the fans.

That's not the only reason. You can take that out of the equation and still say there are much safer choices out there.

failure has fueled the success for many of the most successful people in history

Him failing 10 years ago is meaningless if he has learned from it & became a better coach & person. And listening to him talk, he clearly has a strong sense of self awareness & what he has done wrong. He has clearly learned from not only his mistakes, but Les Miles' mistakes. To me, that can be parlayed into wins, as Les Miles was not far off from a most historic run.

On top of that, his strong recruiting efforts within the state do not have me scared if he becomes our coach. If he can recruit as well as Miles has, and i see no reason he cannot; if he can clean up the mistakes that Miles made, put a little more trust in his coordinators then what Miles had, you are telling me he can't win at LSU?

Football isnt rocket science. it's about 70% recruiting, and while Coach O may not fit as the head guy at Alabama or USC or Florida St, he certainly could work at LSU given their unique recruiting backdrop that he is already heavily tied into.

Just think if that applied to everything in life...Jake Arietta wouldn't be in the majors

Several friends that are Bama fans were extremely relieved when we didn't get Jimbo last year. They are all now hoping we end up with O.

This is not qualifying head coach experience. Not his players, system, or coaches. He is perfect as interim motivator who doesn't have to make any decisions.

He regressed at Ole Miss when he had those responsibilities. He went 0-8 in conference his 3rd year when it was "his" program with his players and coaches.

I'm sorry, that is not acceptable.
