I mean he said “does USC make a run at Lincoln” yesterday and like 3 hours later it was official.

I'll take back anything negative I've said about Feldman if he's speaking in code to us.

Really, though, I've always thought highly of Feldman, but I was drinking the Riley Kool-Aid against my better judgement.

If Scott looked at the calendar months ago and realized this was Carolina’s bye week and he could snag Rhule if things were going south there then his gangster status may be reinstated

Whiffing on Lincoln and ending up with Rhule may be the off-brand version of whiffing on RichRod and ending up with Saban.
Damn, I love this take, and I would absolutely love for it to come to fruition.

If Rhule is the hire, I'm pretty confident we will know today or tomorrow.

I agree, dellenger would drop a “Matt rhule expected to be named LSU head coach” tweet today with a formal press conference tomorrow

If it is indeed rhule

Feldman has been right so far… more so than the local guys.

He wasn't right about Riley because he's connected to LSU. He was right about Riley because he's connected to USC.

He still doesn't have any more info about our search, from our side, than he ever has.

If he gets fired it would be today

I’m not sure he would accept a new job while still employed, but I guess this would be the stretch to do it

It is hard to see the owner firing him less than 2 years after making such a big commitment. Unless Rhule just hates the NFL, hard to see this one working out logistically if he isn't hired this week.

Waiting means LSU will likely lose several key parts of their recruiting class AND the current roster could start to be picked off by other teams via transfers.

The LSU program is not dead. It was just being run by a complete buffoon. It is no coincidence that once he was completely out of the picture (O never had any control over the offense and LSU abandoned his stupid defensive approach) LSU suddenly looked like a team that could compete with anyone in the SEC.

There is still talent set to return and an opportunity for a good recruiting class. If they were to get a HC soon to salvage the situation it is not unrealistic LSU could be competitive again next season. But that will be much harder if the roster is depleted of key players with no help from the recruiting class by waiting until after the NFL season (or playoffs) end.

How reputable is he for NFL (and agents therein)?

Except his is Orgeron's boy and if Ed knows Feldman would know. Even though I don't think Ed knows.

The idea that they can mutually split, let Rhule take the LSU job & not be owed anything by the Panthers is the most likely scenario if that were to happen.

I said the same thing earlier.

Delly knew they were talking a few weeks ago and there were concerns he would leak it. He didn't.

I suspect SW got him to hold off in exchange for breaking it later if the deal was done.

But not "current Panthers coach Matt Rhule". It's like the NFL doesn't exist. Maybe we can go after Kliff Kingsbury or Urban Meyer because currently they're floating in some other dimension or realm of existence.

Perhaps we can go after former San Diego State running back coach/Miami of OH Offensive Coordinator Sean Payton.

And whatever happened to former USC coach Pete Carroll? We should have a seance to contact his disembodied spirit to see if he's interested in returning to the college ranks, since at the moment he has vanished from our earthly realm.
