UH in that CUSA/AAC stretch before they joined the big 12 was the best G5 job out there as far as resources and natural advantages compared to their peers. It made a couple mediocre coaches a bunch of money in Sumlin and Herman

I wonder how things would have played out for Tom had he chosen LSU.
He still lands Burreaux.
So we still win in 2019. Wheels don't come off as dramatically in 2020-21.

Demote Sloan back to QB coach and hire him as OC

I think there was a good coach in there but he’s got a bit of that Kiffin immaturity mixed with a touch of Sean Payton otherworldly hubris plus the Texas fiasco and now he may be a bit of a lost cause. Don’t see him bouncing back like sark especially with Saban rehab clinic closed.
Agree with all of this.
Coaches are a bit like QBs getting drafted. If they go to the wrong situation for them, it could be the end and they might never recover. But those same QBs could've had a great career had they landed somewhere else.

Most are better off staying as a coordinator. Herman is one.

A lot of folks in Athens wanted Herman to succeed Richt. Amazingly enough, the AD at the time wanted Dan Mullen.
Thank God the boosters told McGarrity to hire Kirby.

the guy has anger and maturity problems and it is a terrible look when your wife has to grab you and drag you away from an opponent HC like an 8 yr old

Hats off to Alex Golesh for exposing this talentless POS and getting him fired.

OK cool, Hook Em
I wonder if Zach Smith has any thoughts on Herman's latest tumble

I thought he got a raw deal at Texas, getting fired after the Covid season chaos.
In hindsight we’re certainly better off. Tom knows how to win bowl games if nothing else.

I mean there are just some coaches that are better coordinators vs head coaches. Just sayin…….. I would definitely make his phone ring.

Look for Ole Miss OC Charlie Weis Jr. to be heavily in the mix for this job. Weis was OC at FAU for 2 years under Lane.

That's hilarious how quick she moved in and dug her fingernails in his arm like that. Almost as if she's pulled him away from fights before.
Saw her in person back when he was coaching at UH, and I would probably let her dig her nails into my arm or back.

3&17 was the kill shot on this dude's tenure in Texas.
