Also, was there a large public effort to try to get these books no longer published? I don't recall seeing anything. This kinda seemed to come out of nowhere.

Luckily we already own all of the books that they want to ban.

Is that happening with Dr. Seuss? Publisher no longer making new copies is not the same as being prevented from buying them.

Yet.

It’s coming. They have let the mob run amuck for too long. They are emboldened and hungry.

The Inquistion/Cultural Revolution seems to be nigh. Prepare for your struggle session.

It’s definitely strange, that people get offended or upset over just about everything

So we’re creating a black market for Dr Seuss?

I truly believe reading books with mature or what is now considered “offensive” themes when I was younger expanded my view of the world and allowed me to grow into an adult. True. You cannot shield and protect people from adversity or troubles.

Adversity and struggle are parts of life and help one learn to cope and adapt and survive.

Putting bumper rails on a kid's life is only setting them up for massive disappointment and sadness.

Failure is part of life; it's how one responds to it that is important.

Weapons, not food, not homes, not shoes
Not need, just feed the war, cannibal animal
I walk the corner to the rubble, that used to be a library
Line up to the mind cemetery now
What we don't know keeps the contracts alive and movin'
They don't gotta burn the books, they just remove 'em
While arms warehouses fill as quick as the cells
Rally 'round the family, pockets full of shells

Some books may go OOP but there's nothing to stop the sale and purchase of used books.

That's the beauty of printed books.

No it isnt, there are already millions in circulation. I spend hundreds of dollars on used books every year.

Tons of books i have read / want to read go out of print all the time. It is a business decision and while you might not like the reasoning, it isnt a book burning

Those books likely go out of print because they stop selling. These books are going out of print because they’ve been deemed dangerous and been given a very public scarlet letter
