LSU running back Noah Cain announced Monday evening that he is declaring for the NFL Draft.

The Baton Rouge native transferred to LSU in 2022 after three seasons with Penn State. He played in every game over the last two seasons (27) with three starts, rushing for 590 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Cain may have been eligible to return as a sixth-year senior if he requested a waiver.

LSU's running back room next season will include sophomores Kaleb Jackson and Trey Holly and incoming freshman Caden Durham. Sixth-year senior Josh Williams could also be in the mix, as he previously said he was leaning toward returning next year.

Running backs Tre Bradford, Armoni Goodwin, and Logan Diggs all recently entered the transfer portal, and John Emery Jr. has exhausted his eligibility.

I feel like CBK is finally showing loyalty to recruits rather than transfers… a season late at the LB position, but I hope this sticks

He was a good loyal Tiger. Hard worker. Wish him well.

considering he transferred here from Penn St, with all the expectation to be a key contributor and was relegated to mop up duty, he could have quit on us or become a disturbance in the locker room, but he never did... i wish nothing but success to him, even if i don't necessarily think it's gonna work out with the NFL for him... hoping he proves me wrong

He’s not an NFL prospect, it’s time to move on in life, start a career

That's what I was thinking. Don't believe he's draftable. But who knows, maybe he'll be a free agent signing we see in the preseason and he can make some noise.

We are currently 6-7 over our scholarship limit heading to spring ball. Better this problem to have vs. have 37 scholarship players going into spring. RB room is going to be a strength of this team
