Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports
Former LSU tight end Thaddeus Moss announced his retirement from football on Monday via social media.

Moss was a key player on the 2019 LSU National Championship team and finished that season with 47 receptions for 570 yards and four touchdowns, two of which came in the title game over Clemson.

He signed with the Washington Football Team as an undrafted free agent following the 2020 NFL Draft but was waived in August.

He spent time with Washington, the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Birmingham Stallions of the USFL. He signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL in February but was cut during training camp.

I don't know why but it makes me happy that Randy Moss got to see his son (who he had to know wasn't an NFl caliber player) excel and win a championship on the national stage. Thad did his old man proud every week, and had more than a few crazy highlights.

Guy caught everything that was remotely near him and was clutch. Will always appreciate his effort and time in BR. Funny that he seemed like a unicorn for multiple years due to injury and then burst on the scene in 2019.

That was an awesome catch. But I loved the way you could tell that he ENJOYED the game. When they were reviewing that catch, they kept showing him waiting on the decision. He had the biggest smile on his face. Every time you saw him he was smiling. loved this guy!

I remember it very well. I remember Gary bitching about it until CBS started showing the replay. The only thing that would have made it better is if Vern would have still been around. Vern’s turkey neck might have stroked out on live TV if he was still around.

Was a huge piece but mostly unspoken part of the greatest team of all time in CF.

People often forget that he was part of what made that team so dangerous. It wasn’t just the 3 headed monster at receiver and clydro. It was 5 dudes running routes and each one could beat you.

He damn sure was. I thought he was destined for a great career in the NFL. I still remember the catch he made against Alabama down close to the end zone right on the sideline that kept the game going in the favor of LSU. He will always be a Great Tiger in my eyes.

Wish him the best! He played for the letters on his helmet and not those on his back like another son of a famous WR.

The fact he couldn’t carve out an NFL career shows just how competitive the league can be

Also I don’t think he ever recovered from his foot injury. He got more than a little unlucky there.

For a modern TE, he was short and slow. Not a knock on the guy; He was fine for college football and has amazing hands, but he was just not pro material.

Now like so many others before him, go sell parts and materials to plants. We always pay more for the name alone.
