Okki Tokki is very good. Recently opened near Blue Bayou in the ole "The Yard" location. It's about $15, but I've had it twice and it easily made 2 meals for me each time.

Cava is also good.

Chipotle never had much flavor for me.
Izzo's spicy chicken is good, but their steak & birria both suck

to bring people for a workout at a position that has 4-of-7 on roster have already been injured & missed time before playing preseason game #2?

I didn't say sign, this is to keep a short list viable players, similar to how we worked out WRs Chase Claypool & Josh Reynolds yesterday

Free agent RBs to workout?

Posted by Doug_H on 8/19/26 at 1:28 pm
Alvin Kamara is missing time, again.
Kendre Miller just came back from missing time, again.
Devin Neal just came back from missing time.
Audric Estime ankle injury is to be determined.
Travis Etienne won't play in any preseason games
CJ Donaldson & Ty Chandler are the only "fully healthy" available RBs.

Kellen has proven to be diligent in roster and free agent assessment and churning the bottom of the roster, so who do we bring for a workout?

If Estime is out for a while, we need to bring in a power back.
Nick Chubb had 500 yards & a 4.1avg
Alexander Mattison didn't play in 2025 due to a neck injury before the season, but has been cleared and had some offseason workouts

Workouts to keep on short list in case Kamara/Miller/Neal miss a bunch
Miles Sanders went on IR after week 4, but should be healthy by now
Raheem Mostert extensive injury history, but played all 2025 for LV, though didn't do much
Austin Ekeler ruptured achilles in week 2 for WASH, but reportedly is fully cleared

Any unsigned FA rookies?
Any other teams stacked at RB to keep an eye on for cuts, or a swap of late round picks?
quote:

Just means he gonna miss some regular season games. Tbh potential bigger loss today is quincy riley. He hurt his groin. His arse probably about to miss some regular season games too. Tyson, Breese, Kamara, Jordan, and Riley out and aint even played the starters in a preseason game yet. shite is frustrating.

Agreed on Riley. Curious to hear what his outlook is. Thankfully Emerson & Price have been stepping up. I hope we bring in a few vet CBs this week for a workout though in case Riley is expected to miss

Kamara to be blunt he is 31yr old RB who hasn't had a full season in years, including missing 6 games to end last season from a right PCL/MCL injury. Is this the same knee? Regardless of which knee, similar to groin injuries they linger so I unfortunately I'm not expecting much from Kamara until the back half of the season, hopefully he's healed and up to speed by then.
Any updates on Estime? Given Kendre & Neal just came back yesterday, plus Estime to be determined and now Kamara hurt, that leaves only Etienne & Donaldson fully healthy. I expect to see a couple RBs brought in for workouts this week also

Tyson can still have a great impact this year, similar to how OBJ started his career with the Giants. But him being injured really shouldn't be surprising considering his history.

Cam being injured is surprising with his iron man status, despite being a 37yr old DE.

Bresee & Radunz having ACL tears is surprising given their positions. These were just bad luck, part of the game. I don't have the numbers off hand but I feel like you rarely see OL and interior DL have ACL tears since they're not cutting and changing direction at full speed compared to the skill positions

Overall depth looks to be the best we've had in years!

IMO, Each of these guys earned roster spots last night, now they have to hang onto them.

QB-#4 Zach Wilson: He took the QB2 spot. I expected him to from signing, was surprised to continue to see Rattler as QB2 in camp despite Rattler having a good camp, but again he showed when the lights come on he's a different player.

RB-#30 Audric Estime: He's violent & surprisingly shift for his size. He's the power back we need, especially with Taysom gone. He does need to work on pass protection though. Hope his ankle is okay from that nasty tackle.

WR-#16 Bub Means: Bub has always flashed, now he needs to stay healthy. Excited to see it!

WR-#10 Trey Palmer: I did not expect him to be that physical and be a contested catch guy but man those were some great catches on the sidelines yesterday. Love to see a player going all out and taking advantage!

RG-#65 Jeremiah Wright: (Not that his roster spot was in limbo) Took a couple expected lumps last night but overall I thought he had a pretty strong game! Getting beat on some snaps is expected and even needed at this stage. Excited to watch him become refined & technical.

DT-#52 Christen Miller: Showed some motor & hustle last night, good to see from a 320lb DT. Lost a few reps, but also won plenty. Looks like he's got a high ceiling.

LB-#53 Jaylen Ford: Really nice to see him flying around making plays, and get great leaping INT. He did whiff on one tackle, but it's still 1st preseason game so it's all expected. I had him on the bubble, battling for a spot with Isaiah Stallbird, pending how much coaches valued his ST play but after last night it's his spot to lose.

CB-#22 Martin Emerson Jr: We all expected him to be CB3 or CB4 at signing but the first couple of weeks of camp weren't great for him. He knocked some rust off this week and made plays, then rose to the occasion in game. Great story, love to see him bounce back after injury, and awesome news for our CB depth.

DB-#38 Jayden Price: Prior to camp I figured he was another PS candidate, but he's had a great camp and it transferred to the game! Love to see unsung guys paving their way! He's got versatility on D playing both NB & S, as well as STs and in the return game.

K-#46 Tanner Brown: His % in camp has been roughly 10% better than Smyth's, and it continued last night. The position is now his to lose!

Didn't help their case:
QB-#2 Spencer Rattler: Has had a great camp by all accounts, but failed to capture the moment when the game lights came on. I can live with a backup being inaccurate at times, checking down, and escaping the pocket too quick but you absolutely cannot compound that by turning the ball over. Ball security has been an issue for him with us from INTs and fumbles.

TE-#88 Oscar Delp: He's still a lock to make the roster, but he didn't really take a step forward last night. It's all learning in his first preseason game, so hopefully he works on what he needs to and bounces back next game.

CB-#27 Isaac Yiadom: I was worried with him penciled in as CB3 to start camp based off last year, and it seems like every highlight a WR has in camp has been with him in coverage. He's now CB5 with Martin Emerson and Jayden Price at CB3/4 respectively.

Practice Squad Candidates:
DE-#40 Fadil Diggs: Had a sack and was flying around often. Needs to be more stout against the run though, got washed away a few times.

DE-#57 Myles Cole: Popped a few times in pass rush early. Looked to be lined up on the inside a couple times as well so that versatility is a plus. It worked well in passing situations but he got pushed around a bit on the inside in the run game.

DE-#59 Garrett Nelson: Had several good plays, hustled whistle to whistle.

DE-#63 Michael Heldman: Good motor, saw him trying different moves not relying on just speed rush. Needs to stay more disciplined setting the edge though.

DT-#97 Khristian Boyd: He made a few plays last night. Was hoping he could gain some ground but it still looks like he's behind Ridgeway, Miller, & Godchaux

LB-#47 Jackson Sirmon: Very active, always around the ball. Had a couple good confident tackles.
quote:

I think Chandler probably our battering ram on short downs.

What? He is the leanest RB on the roster. He’s a 3rd down back, not a power back
quote:

Saints reporters: The Saints are having a day.
Jags reporters: The Jags are have a day.

This is so true.

Multiple reports reading "Olave with 3TD catches", but if you watch the video of the 1st "TD" you can see how easily the reporters sway a play in their direction.

The 1st "TD" to Olave jumping to catch it over Hunter was a TERRIFIC throw and catch, GREAT ball placement by Shough and RAC by Olave.........butttttttt, if you watch the play it was not a TD.
Olave had 2 defenders fixing to sandwich him on the sideline but they both pulled up since its practice, and Olave just kept running to the end zone..... Then if you look at the beginning of the play closer, the play actually probably would not have even happened. You can see the defender off the left side come through untouched and he also pulled up no to hit Shough, so that would have been a sack in real game in all likleyhood.
I've never been a fan of retiring a number, regardless if it's Billy Cannon at LSU or Drew Brees with the Saints.

I understand not immediately issuing to someone the following year, especially at the same position and if the new player isn't expected to be great.

But highly touted, bonafide SEC starting CB as a Freshman now entering his Sophomore season should absolutely be able to get the #.

Daniels is now 3 years removed from LSU, has made millions already, and is on his way to earning a HUGE 2nd contract. I feel like his priorities aren't exactly straight here.

Posted by Doug_H on 8/10/26 at 8:10 am to
At this point we should give (2) of these guys a call like yesterday, get them practicing ASAP so they can get reps in preseason game this week. With Radunz out for the year and Wright currently banged, plus videos of Ruiz getting bullied, now is the time to be aggressive.

Mekhi Beckton, 27
Will Hernandez, 30
Alex Cappa, 27
James Daniels, 28
Ben Cleveland, 27
Liam Eichenberg, 28
Shaq Mason, 32
Graham Glasgow, 33
Kevin Zeitler, 36
Greg Van Roten, 36

Who would be the LBs? Elliss, Werner, Stutsman, Ford, Stalbird? I could see the last two not making it...maybe they wanted some more veteran leadership there?

Was hoping Stallbird would be ready to step up and play some coverage snaps, but I don’t think I’ve heard his name or Ford thus far in camp. Maybe we are kicking the tires see what Debo has left, nothing wrong with churning the bottom of the roster

When it comes to actually preparing guys to be the very best overall football players possible before entering the NFL, the portal is absolutely a fricking killer. there isn't any defense to the contrary. It's common sense.

Bingo. I have so much less investment in the college game now. It's sad

I can't pretend to have devoted enough time to studying this, but how can there be "no defense to the contrary"? The argument can be made that there are players that would have gone unnoticed and buried on the depth chart and ultimately undrafted to transferring and being able to play and put game film out for the NFL to see.

From a developmental standpoint, what is wrong with a defender transferring one or multiple times in college?
--Consistency?--Only for that one defense and pool of coaches, but the argument can be made that transferring can lead to different schemes, coaches, facilities, etc.
--Playing time?--Just because they aren't ready to start for National Title contender doesn't mean they aren't good enough to be a true collegiate starter. Film room & practice only goes so far, these guys only have a few short years to make their mark to get noticed & set up their best for the NFL draft.

The poster who said NCAA's job is not to develop for the NFL is absolutely correct, it's the NFL's job evaluate and coach up their roster.

I don't know if this is accurate, but I believe it!

I've spent a lot of time with family members at the Heart Hospital in Lafayette and Woman's Hospital in Baton Rouge and it absolutely amazed me seeing the amount of non-healthy foods that were served and no healthy options aside from a poached egg and fruit. There's absolutely nothing organic either, who needs that in a hospital?

It's amusing they don't use much seasoning because they claim "that's not healthy".

50-4 before McGregor and 15-12 after McGregor... Were they really in their prime? Seems like they were on the wrong end of their careers.

McGregor was 19-2 before Aldo, 3-4 after.
McGregor was 21-3 before Alvarez, 1-3 after.
His age wasn't "old" but just using the records one can make the argument that he was on the wrong end of his career after Alvarez.

Deeper than that he simply chased glory/money fights and boxing matches, and did not focus on being his best at MMA after the Alvarez fight. That's his own fault "tarnishing" his MMA record and legacy.

At 21-3, 2 of his losses were early in his career before hitting his prime and going on a 15 fight win streak. 3rd loss came to Nate Diaz at Welterweight. I thought he would beat Nate, but cannot call him overrated just because of that loss.

After that losing to Khabib, arguably the greatest LW ever is not knock on anybody considering Khabib was literally undefeated.

Also no shame in losing to Poirier. If he was 100% focused on MMA for the Poirier fights they could have gone down differently, as it did in 2014 for their first match, but Poirier also greatly improved over that time so who knows.

TL;DR: I don't think any version of McGregor beats Khabib, but it is conceivable that had he remained focused solely on MMA he could have beaten Poirier again. He has a chance against Holloway in R1, but anything beyond the first 3 minutes greatly favors Holloway. I'm picking Holloway.

re: Anyone had a spouse go through chemo?

My wife had breast cancer, went through 4 rounds of the “red devil” then 12 of another lesser aggressive chemo.

My opinion the steroids were great for her, and I think some people saying it was the steroids giving them side effects may not be realizing how much the steroids were helping the first few days. At least that was my conclusion for my wife’s experience.

1st days after she had decent energy to still do stuff around the house. But could not do anything for very long, poor thing just had no endurance, hell almost 2 years later her endurance still isn’t to where it was before.

Cold capping was applicable to her diagnosis & treatment, it’s fairly costly, but was absolutely worth it for her psyche and I cannot recommend it enough!

Some days will suck, just be shite, mainly due to fatigue! She didn’t have much vomiting actually but there was still some nausea. It’s different for everyone. Some foods & smells that she loved suddenly made her queasy.

Video yourself from looking at your front and also from your back leg. Do this now, and then again after the drills to compare the difference.

Simplest & most generic training;
Practice swinging with your feet together.
Then practice swinging from a kneeled position.
With your struggle for weight shift it probably leaves you pushing/fading/slicing, and that is basically impossible to do when hitting with your feet together or from your knees.

Practice regular stance but don't start your swing from regular position, instead start from the top at your hinge-point and start with 50% swings just focusing on over-pronouncing the hip turnover with your trail leg.

I have a buddy that uses some app and I swear it makes him seem better than he is. He doesn’t realize how much he’s hurting himself the few times a year he’s in a money match esp when not counting the mulligans he takes throughout the round.

I will never understand people that only put their good scores into Handicap calculator. I get they want their handicap to be low to look & sound like they're good, but then they use that slanted handicap # in tournaments or money rounds with buddies and then get pissed at themselves when they lose.

The only scores I do not enter are rounds where I say beforehand that I'm not going to, and I'll just use as a practice round. Whether I'm trying something different with grip/swing off the tee, or trying an iron where I'd normally use a W or Hy or vice versa, and maybe working on a different club or swing release with my chipping around the green.

I use GHIN, and I love that it tracks the Fairways hit, Greens in Regulation, and putts. I never tracked it until I had gotten a GHIN account and saw that feature. For amateurs I think it's great to track that so you see the % in black and white, especially for GIR when you see the majority of your greens missed were short. That shows the ego most of us have to say "my 8 is my 155 club" and so on, but that's only if we flush it great which only happens maybe 20% of the time, so we actually should club up to the 7 and take a slightly easier swing that's a higher % of hitting okay versus the low % of flushing the other club

Kelly Plantation - Played early May and it was in great shape. Also played in 2024 and it was fantastic then as well. It's more expensive than probably all the others except for Regatta, but it's a nicer course than the others and Regatta. If you're going to spring on only one $150+ round then I'd definitely do Kelly over Regatta

Windswept Dunes- Played in 2024 and enjoyed the heck out of it

Indian Bayou- Played in 2024 and enjoyed it as well

The Links- Played a few times and it's always been in good shape, save for when they have done maintenance to the greens.

Regatta Bay- Played in early May and it was in great shape, save for the greens which had just been punched so they were slow.

Baytowne- was good for a cheaper price

Emerald Bay- Never played, but heard good things.

Seascape- Never played, but have heard it was horrible.

re: Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort

Definitely Baytowne given your experience level. Slower greens as others mentioned usually helps newer golfers with higher handicaps

Links is a nice course when the greens aren't just punched.

I've never played Burnt Pine and The Raven, and one is private so unless you're playing with a member you won't be able to anyways
