He’s a Heisman Trophy winner and arguably a top 10 SEC QB of all time. I say it’s completely fine to feel this way about your number.

Something like this won’t hold up in court. No way a former player can tell his former school that a player can’t wear a number. The number isn’t exclusive to Daniels. Other players have worn the number 5 before him.

Not gonna lie, kinda dumb for LSU not to at least discuss it with Jayden.
He's a huge recruiting tool that you now can no longer use. I hope they patch up the relationship quickly, whether that be making Pickett put #3 back on or something else.

I feel like this will cause some disdain towards Jayden, which is unfortunate
I think ultimately the number will end up being retired in the future.
Why goes through this hassle and turn LSU fans against you?
Side note: BK needs to be taking some heat for this, Kiffin is only honoring what the kid was originally promised.

They did discuss it with him. This is honestly BK’s fault. Kelly didn’t even know picket was promised 5, when he found out, he told JD5 and was told he wasn’t on board. So he never let Pickett get 5 last year. Lane has no personal connections with JD probably and just wants to honor a current player what was promised to him. Obviously it seems like that was a big deal to Pickett too
