A lot of airlines are having this issue and IMO it is because they have struggled to replace the people they retardedly fired for not getting the clot shot.
Spirit is good for a getaway weekend where you can fit everything you're taking in a duffel bag. When you start checking bags, the price difference starts going away.

It worked out for me because I was able to make by connections via standby and while working with the Agent Assist and while helping me she told me, "I would never fly Spirit".
LOL, why the hell would you fly Spirit WITH a connection? Literally no one would recommend that.
Spirit direct for cheap is worth it.
Was your connection Spirit? I'm really going to laugh if you tried to fly spirit and then connect on another airline?
ETA: Additionally, Spirit makes sense when you fly from a non hub to a non hub. Like Spirit used to have a Pensacola to Miami route that was the only direct, for like $89 that's worth it especially not having to go through Atl or Charlotte to get there.

I have flown Spirit and Frontier many times to get from point A to point B, and have never had any issue.
It's exactly what I expect.
fricking American Airlines can suck a dick.
Southwest? It's the most overhyped airline on the planet.

I had 3 flights on American from Dallas to nola cancel last weekend.
I had enough and jumped on a United flight and got home with no problem.

Only flown Spirt once. My only gripe was the a-hole who decided to spay on cologne before getting in his seat as we're boarding.
I've seen people do stuff in airports and while on the plane that make you question your fellow man but that was a new one for me. My dude, nobody wants to smell your knock off stank pretty you got from some tourist trap in the quarter.

That pic exemplifies the Spirit experience. Nasty people doing nasty things.

How the hell is Southwest overhyped? It's one tier above greyhound of the skies with a Cattle call to board.

I flew to south America this month with the Mexican version of Spirit, Volaris. They didn't even give us water on a 6 hour flight. But I lived to tell the tale.

I flew them once and apparently got very lucky. Houston to Tampa for $38 round trip about 6-7 years ago. I carried on a very small bag with a few bathing suits and tshirts. No checked bags. No issues either way.
Heard some absolute horror stories over the years since then. Never again.

Spirit isn’t much different than any other shitty US airline, which is all of them. Fourth of July I flew spirit to meet up with my wife and kids who were already at our vacation spot. They flew American and got in 6 hours late. I was in 10 min early.
Most of the people that hate spirit are closeted racists bothered by being around minorities.

Southwest fliers are the fanbois of the travel world. They act as if the cattle call normal. I'd say it's mostly a Texas thing, like how they think HEB is the only grocery store on the planet or that TexMex>Mexican anywhere else, etc etc.

Not as bad as Frontier in my opinion. That was the most ghetto trash I’ve ever had the pleasure of flying with.

Use to fly them all the time when they had the 50 dollar RT to Dallas. I've never had an issue with over 20 flights on them

Oh lawd, canceled flights, delays and you better not be overweight. Spirit planes are very cramped. Some overweight people on the plane were having big problems.
When no one was flying early in the pandemic, the federal government gave the airlines big money to retain their staff, and the airlines let too many people go anyway.
Of the big four US airlines, I had the lowest opinion of United before the pandemic, but they have handled this situation far better than Delta, American, or Southwest. I think that Alaska Airlines has also avoided the meltdowns that the rest of the industry is dealing with.
But yeah, this is part of why JetBlue is going to be buying Spirit. JetBlue doesn't have enough pilots or planes.

Looking at the seats, don't think that's a Spirit plane. The seats are much more spartan and cheap.
