I see that they have actually have an airport with passenger flights services by Delta Airlines, American Airlines, and United Airlines. I’m surprised that a city as small as Alexandria has a passenger airport, but I guess it’s the biggest town in CENLA.

Anyone ever use that airport?

Yes, Delta several times. Small airport, long runway since I think it was a former military base. Didn't feel any different than any other small regional airports I've used.

In the 70’s Delta stopped there on flights between Dallas and Baton Rouge.

Several times the few years we lived in Alexandria. It’s awesome. Easy in, easy out. The one negative is if you check bags, you will be waiting for them awhile on your return.

Yes, 30 years ago I flew a private jet courtesy of Uncle Sam from Alec to Tazar, Hungary and a year later I flew back to Alec from Tazar, Hungary.

It's really easy to get in and out of. No need to arrive super early. You pretty much just park and go get on your flight. I've never had any issues flying out of there when the price was right, but as somebody has already mentioned, it's pretty pricey. It works out nice if it's just me and the wife flying. When flying with the kids it's usually much less expensive for us to drive to Dallas or Houston.

That's a fact. Big use from the Feds out of AEX. US Marshalls, ICE, and Ft. Polk use this airport for international flights.

One of the holes at Oakwing Golf Course is next to the airport and we saw them being loaded up. One of the guys with us yelled out that it "looked like they had a lot of customers" that day.
