I’ve been during both summer and winter. It’s my favorite place to ski so far, but I didn’t find anything special about the town. It’s a neat place, but as far as restaurants and shops go I’ve found telluride, steamboat, and Ketchum to be better. My experience is limited though since I just started skiing a few years ago.

Mammoth, Taos and maybe Tahoe are favored with El Nino...Hard to say though about early in the season. Of those maybe Mammoth

Ended up finding roundtrip nonstop flights for under $400 to/from LAX 12/26-12/31 so I'm going to try Mammoth and maybe June mountain. Trying to check off some new ski mountains this season!

I’ve only ever done Steamboat and Snowmass. Taking the wife, my 7 and 9 year old girls to Copper Mountain in March. First time for my little ones. I’ll tack on $$$ for those lessons. And yes, if you’re doing the math, I haven’t been in a while .

Probably a dumb question, but this is my first time skiing.
If I buy epic pass and reserve ski days as required, am I 100% guaranteed to ski as opposed to buying lift tickets from the resort directly? This is for Telluride.

I can give you the iKon perspective, but yes when holding a confirmed reservation with one of the passes you can ski on those days. It's worked at Snowqualmie, Jackson Hole, Taos, etc with no issues. If it would calm your nerves, you can check with the ticket desk morning of at the resort

Is Epic doing reservations again like Covid times? I had epic last year and just showed up to all the i70 resorts. I got Monarch this year.

70 outside of Denver is going to be worse than awful the next 5 years with construction at Floyd. My firm did the design part of it. The department head didn’t buy a ski pass for the first time in. 20 years

I think it’s specific to telluride currently. I also have to purchase at least a 4 day pass although we will only be there 3 full days. Still $600-$700 cheaper than lift tickets.

Currently looking at big sky for 3 days in early February. I’ve never bought an ikon pass, but it looks like a 3 day session pass is almost $100 cheaper than a 3 day ticket through the resort. What’s the rub here? I know you have to schedule your dates, but is there any other downside?

Only things you need to know are you have to make a reservation for all of your days and February 17-18 are blacked out. Otherwise it works just like a normal pass you would get from the resort.

Just booked first-ever trip to Steamboat for last week of February; flying in & out of HDN around noon. I'm seeing widely varying options for transport between HDN & condo near base area. 2 guys, 60's, no families this time - Any suggestions?

Just booked 4 days skiing in Chamonix in early February. Can’t wait to ski Vallee Blanche.

Wake up this morning and what do I see on the tall (13500'+) peaks?

Gentlemen, its snow.

Any advice for a mid December trip? I’m a total rookie. Was considering Jackson Hole, Big Sky, CO locations.

Spent the last two summers in Bozeman/Big Sky and Jackson hole was next on the list, figured winter might be a good time to knock it out, but not sure how conditions would be in December
