How is Kitz? Seriously considering it. I’ve skied Garmisch, and Stubai glacier. How’s kitz compare to say Vail?

I’ve stayed in both the Huntley and summit. Each are at the base of the mountain just steps from the lifts.

I've stayed at the Huntley and the Wilson Hotel. The Huntely is basically ski in/ski out which is nice, it has just been updated as well. The Wilson is nice but it is a 10 minute drive to the mountain, it is closer to better options to eat. Both are expensive, I used to book the Wilson with Marriott points but they have since cranked up the amount of points it takes to book to match the price.

Question for the ski weather experts. In an el nino year, where typically gets the most snow? Think I've read California and the southwest but trying to find some locations for skiing mid December and Christmas time

ETA: Ikon pass destinations

Mammoth, Taos and maybe Tahoe are favored with El Nino...Hard to say though about early in the season. Of those maybe Mammoth.

That said a lot of the mountains in CO and UT are not strongly affected by El Nino, so they could have good conditions. Not on Ikon but Wolf Creek is probably the best bet for early season skiing.

Shot in the dark here but have any of you guys ever skied in Chile ? Was looking into it for next summer . Son will be graduating HS and we told him to pick a destination he’s always wanted to go and we’d take him there. For whatever reason he said he’s always wanted to visit Chile . I guess I’ve been living under a rock bc upon some research I am finding out that their peak ski season is July -September. Also had no idea how beautiful it is there. Anyone with any experience in that part of the world ? Skiing or otherwise.

PSA....If traveling I 70 west of Denver, there’s major construction in the Floyd Hill section. To keep abreast of delays, Text 21000 for daily updates.

Wolf Creek should be damn good in an El Nino.

More so than most of the CO mountains. Same for Telluride/SW CO.

That subtropical jet will be well positioned to give them a boost.

Been in the Yellowstone area this week and spent the day in Big Sky yesterday. All I have to say is DAMN, I can’t imagine a better ski town. I am not a skier, but want to be one now. Have been to Aspen, Park City, and driven through Vail/Breck, and could not imagine a better place than Big Sky.

Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts and experiences there?
