Why do you even care?

Think about how little traffic this site would have if people didn't start threads about all the stupid things ya'll don't care about.

This place would be dead.

In general, I find that apps work better and the hardware is more reliable. YMMV.

Meh idk Samsung makes a pretty reliable device, software on Iphone was not bug free for me either. Its all about what people are used to its not hard to switch and get used to another operating system theres a learning curve but its not hard. People who say they stay with apple because of the ecosystem is just an excuse to not try new things. Google and Samsung are just as integrated now and seamless. Never know what you're missing until you try new things. The only thing i do miss about Apple was the Apple Credit Card and daily cash back. Was easy to make purchases and pay bill and utilize the cash back system. Other than that the experience was meh for me i dont facetime all the time or rarely ever and theres google meet for that wife and i can face time easily from my phone to her iphone pretty easily using meet.

I been android for 10 years. Had a few issues of cracked screen while crawling under car and charging port.

In past year have seen my friends I phones need new batteries, no cameras for face ID to get to iCloud, replace several screens, etc. Its like they are made to fail.

I recent talked to wife about us both getting on Apple and macs since she always been "Apple head" and I'm adaptable. She surprised me and said no she wanted a Samsung Galaxy ultra or plus. So will see if she sticks with Android or I get a new phone after 3 years of S22+

Because when I bought an iPhone 3G in 2008, it was the best smartphone available on the planet. Once other phones started to reach parity half a decade or so later, it wasn't worth the hassle of switching ecosystems. In 2026, there is nothing I want to do with my phone that I can't do with an iPhone, and considering I generally keep my phone for 3-4 years, the juice in cost per year I would save by switching ecosystems isn't worth the squeeze.

I stay with android because its easy to move my pictures to a hard drive and I dont have to rent storage space from apple.

Otherwise, id have an iPhone. Just becasue everyone else does, and that makes life simpler. Face time, satellite texting, etc are handy features.

It's really baffling to me. I mean, I get it for women and kids under about 16.

Yeah it's like I shouldn't even question whether Apple is the greatest. Like how could I. I'm glad I'll never step foot in a apple store

Enjoy your $19 apple cleaning cloths.

I think apple watches look tacky in every occasion unless it’s a medical professional wearing scrubs or some guy going out to exercise.

Brilliant marketing is why Apple is so ubiquitous. But at its core, an artful design got it going, thanks to Steve Jobs keen eye for solid design. After that, it was all about integration. Fully integrating the phone, laptop and watch and iCloud.

Why on earth would you care who uses anything. Sounds like it bothers you. Live and let live. Your life will b better if you don’t concern yourself with others choices

At least they have a large variety out now. The first models were all the same. I had a 3, then I think a 7, and now an Ultra 2. The Ultra is amazing. Almost 3 day battery life, larger screen for my older eyes, and a lot of health data. I use mine for tracking HR while working out, sleep tracking, and then the usual text and other alerts. I can glance down at my wrist instead of pulling my phone out every time to see if I should respond soon or if it can wait a bit.

I hate doing business with Apple, I have had my flings with android, but a lot of the apps that are included with iPhones have to be added, stock watchers, weather, reminders, many others. I also have a lot of elderly tech clients, it is just a lot easier to teach them an iphone than the many varieties of android.

To be fair, that is an incredibly valid reason to keep one.

There's nothing special about any phone. They're all the same now. Cell phone tech has been stale for 10 years.

This is part of the reason people believe apple is superior. Comments like this.

quote:

Google just rolled out RCS but it is not universal and often can't be used if a carrier does not adopt it.

Android has leveraged RCS messaging since 2019. Apple blocked it and didn't implement it until 2024.

5 years Android used the tech and people give apple credit for it when apple actually forced it's users to believe Android was just sending shite pictures and videos when it was the apple device all along.

This is revisionist history and Androidtard whining. The reality is that whatever its faults, iPhone is the most innovative and transformational product of any of our lifetimes. Android phones are and will always be nothing more than knockoff products. That is the reality.

It’s not revisionist history. Read the comment he was replying to.

The guy he replied to said RCS just rolled out and is not universal. That is completely false

I have iPhone and android, and if it wasn’t for iMessage I’d use my android primarily. The number one factor for me is the fact that the iPhone keyboard is absolutely terrible. Like so bad, I don’t know how Apple continues to ignore it

The settings menu on android is also much more intuitive.

As far as bugs, I feel like with every new OS release, iPhone gets more buggy, and android gets less. They are really pretty equal to me.

Overall, I like them both for different reasons, but as mentioned before, if not for iMessage I would probably be all in on android
