re: Decent price for a triathlon bike - dltigers3
I am hoping to be closer to 500. I am leaning towards a road bike and adding aero bars because I don't know if I will be doing any other triathlons. I'm not on Facebook, do you have to be to look at the marketplace?...

Decent price for a triathlon bike - dltigers3
I am considering doing a half ironman next year, and starting to plan my training. I do not have a bike, and was looking for recs on a decently price bike? I have been checking Craigslist, as well as a local bike shop for a used bike, but nothing has come up so far....

re: Best Streaming Device - Black Friday - dltigers3
I have cut the cord at my house. We have a mixture of fire TV's, and rokus. The rokus seem to run better as far as smoothness of UI, opening apps faster, etc. The firetv is better if you are interested in using unofficial apps... I have no experience with any other streaming device. ...

re: Google releasing RCS in the US - dltigers3
I somewhat agree with your point, but the problem with the end to end encryption argument is that the current solution is not encrypted anyway. So it is not like it is worse than what we currently have, it is clearly better as far as features, and the same privacy wise...

re: Google releasing RCS in the US - dltigers3
Am I completely wrong here, or is what you described RCS. Literally anyone can run an RCS hub, you just have to connect to the other hubs, and once the apis are released in the next version of Android, anyone can create a their party Android app....

re: Google releasing RCS in the US - dltigers3
Send her the google photos link.
A couple months ago, XDA said that a messaging feature was coming directly to Google photos which should make sharing easier. Not that it is hard now, but I am amazed by how many people don't know how to share in the app...

re: Google releasing RCS in the US - dltigers3
If you’re not familiar with all the ins and outs of RCS, let’s quickly catch up. There are four critical problems with RCS: 1.Not enough carriers have adopted it 2.Those that have adopted it sometimes did so without adhering to the international standard for interoperability called the “U...

re: Google releasing RCS in the US - dltigers3
That's news to me but if that's true, that's very good news indeed. I've been on iOS since before Android existed and have been working hard to remove any hard dependencies on the iOS/macOS ecosystem so I can switch around platforms at will, and iMessage is basically the last hangup I have at...

re: Google releasing RCS in the US - dltigers3
If I remember correct, apple has been at every gsma conference on RCS. I think it is inevitable that they will support it, the question is how long until...

re: Google releasing RCS in the US - dltigers3
I never said it would be a good app. But if it uses universal profile RCS and gets apple on board (both have been stated in everything they have released, including the release a couple days ago by the company building the system) then that is a wonderful thing for everyone. Certainly much better...

re: Google releasing RCS in the US - dltigers3
Well the big benefit is that it falls back to regular mms/sms for contacts that do not have RCS. Also, rumors are that Google and Samsung will be connecting hubs so that will cover the vast majority of Android users And of course, at some point the carrier solution will be coming out, and the...

Google releasing RCS in the US - dltigers3
Big news for messaging in the US. Google announced today that they will be releasing their universal profile RCS to all US Google messages users. Hopefully with the recent announcement from the big 4 carriers, and this today, text messaging will be moving to the 21st century...

re: Possibly Moving Back To Apple From Android - dltigers3
Apple supports their devices considerably longer than any Android OEM. The only difference is usually apple reserves some features for newer devices that do not get added to older, and on Android this usually doesn't happen (and if it does it isn't long before the new APK is release for sideloading)...
