I can tell you from experience that Apple makes this a much easier and more accurate process.
I literally just have to turn on the phone and when I get a prompt to activate the SIM, I click it. I don't know how you can get easier than that.

Android has made it much easier. twice in the last month I've had to transfer everything to a new phone. Took about an hour but worked like a charm.
We're talking about transferring all the apps and stuff? Yeah I just had to do this last week with a tablet replacement Google sent me. It took about 5-7 minutes and the only thing I had to do was verify for security purposes when it signed into my google accounts. If I only had 1 account, it would have taken less time.

Yes. Even text messages. Now I'm moving from pixel to pixel so that might have something to do with it but it's been almost seamless

Yeah I guess you’re right, Apple makes you put in your Apple ID and password.

Most professionals I know have iPhones. Blue collar workers tend to have android phones.
Thought you guys might like this -
The company I work for just went through a huge merger and bc of this they developed new operating software that is supposed to be a combo of the previous systems.
Before it went live, they told the entire company it only works on iPhones so if you were an android user you have to switch or get fricked

I’m not a fanboy of either, but I know how worked up people get over this topic so I had a good chuckle thinking of the ruffled feathers

I actually didn't have to do this on my tablet.

I just had to confirm (on my phone) for 2FA.
On my old phones, the accounts are already logged in.

I think the one issue is people are still idiots and save their contacts to the phone's native app, which isn't always part of their google account. So if they lose the phone, they lose their contacts.
With Apple, due to the single ecosystem and account, I don't think this is possible (without corrupting your account).

Google's voice assistant is a lot better than siri.

This isn't even debatable. Siri is next to useless.
That said, it's not enough to make me want to switch platforms.

I don't really think this is an issue at all. It would be the same as people not backing up to iCloud which also happens.
As someone with very little brand loyalty, let me say, backups and new phone setups on both systems are pretty seamless now. Even transferring between operating systems is easy, although slightly easier going apple to android than android to apple
My last few phones were Pixel 2, pixel 3a, iPhone 11, iPhone 13, pixel 7a for reference

I think, for the most part, it really doesn't matter.
If you take the work factor out of it, most people use a phone to call, text or surf the web (maybe a game here and there).
With that stated, either phone will do those things.

For now. Rumor has it that’s all about to change but only time will tell.
I must admit though, I have google and Siri in my house and both work fine for me. I dunno wtf y’all are asking google to make it so much “better” but I ask it for weather, future forecasts, time, use both to control my smart lights, smart tvs, cameras, etc.
They both work about the same for me for day to day tasks. Now, Google is a bit better when you get into asking it stuff about “Abe Lincoln” or random facts and stats but who TF is doing this often?

That is the real reason you don't have real competition in phones.
Well, not to mention, the EU is hammering Apple right now toward a more open model/system. Love Apple or hate it these EU bureaucrats are a bunch of twats, and this is bullshite.

Samsung Android.
The rest of the family has iPhones and they are really annoying in a in a group text when I get the "Liked blah blah blah.." response.

what about it is BS? improving messaging experience for everyone is a good thing and allowing users to download what they want on their device is a good thing. you can still stay in the walled garden smelling your own farts all day if you please.

leftist Government eurocrats telling private businesses what they can and cannot do is not a good thing. Let the market place decide these things.

Everything Google that has anything to do with AI is worlds better than Apple. Talk to text is pretty horrendous on Apple it sucks.

promoting competition is good for the consumer.
remove all the big government rules and "let the market place decide"...play that out in your mind over the long run and let me know if you still think that is a good idea.

If they would stop acting like assholes those twats would probably leave them alone.
