I've had that exact treatment from my father and from coaches. It's a little scary at the time but will make you get your act together.

This is something that used to be very common. Now coaches put their arms around players and tell them how much they love them. Obviously the coach didn't feel her expectations and the player's were the same and she made clear expectations were identical.

Prob lead to some hot scissoring afterwards.
