The chip had a signal when the defender touched it....again not offsides since it was touched
No

And I will not be lectured by retards who call it "offsides" and have no experience refereeing

Does the chip tell which player touched it? I legit couldn't tell

If they can sync up the time and video with the time and touch detection on the ball it would be clear who touched it, which is what they did.

ETA: although it’s a bullshite technicality because his minuscule “touch” didn’t do anything to the trajectory of the ball.

When they showed it in the replay their was only one spike in contact after the cross. It was synced in the video they showed to when it was by the Croatia players head, but was flat when it hit the Portugal player and spin and direction changed. That video was not in sync with the graph. Two spikes then absolutely, but just one... not saying it was intentional but what they showed on the broadcast was out of sync.

The ball literally has a chip that detects contact That's why it was a quick review - the ref just needed to make sure the timing of the sensor trigger was aligned with when it hit the player Being emphatically wrong is just retarded

And what does you religiously trusting technology inside a ball make you?

But did it register two touches? The Croat and then the Portuguese player?

And it’s the refs job to determine intent.

He got it right here. That was a deflection, not an intentional play on the ball.

It sucks but it is what it is.

Touching tribute for #21

His teammate didn't touch it.

The defender made last touch on the ball.

Telemundo has shown it about ten times. The ball grazed off the Portugal head and into the Croatian player that was called offsides

Yeah. Var is bullshite.

If they can, good to know.

These are the types of decisions that turn people completely away from soccer.

What it comes down is...it's a call that shouldn't have been made.

If Ronaldo is not on the other team, it probably isn't made.

So if it did not hit the Croat and only the back of Portugal, it does not reset the offsides? Just asking as I don’t know the rule.

Do you only show up in the World Cup threads during close ref calls to say this?

We get it homie, people don't like soccer.

Sounds reasonable but it won't be. Soccer is going to be more and more popular esp. here in the States.

Yes, this game was called to keep a name in the tournament.

That would not reset it unless the defender was making an intentional play on the ball.
