Atlanta United - Born and raised in Atlanta

Liverpool - played a lot of FIFA in college. Everyone seemed to be a Man U or Arsenal fan and I wanted to be different. That, Plus Steven Gerrard and winning the champions league that year made my choice easy.

Real Madrid - I’ve got Spanish blood and a Spanish last name. Went to Spain and I was all in. I was always a fan of the all white kits and Sergio Ramos has always been one of my favorite players. Recently joined a Real Madrid supporters club in Atlanta

Up until 4 years ago, I held absolutely zero, zilch, nada interest in soccer. My son had been a fan for years.

After my son graduated from Auburn, he spent an interregnum period back home with me before he got his first job and moved out. Just to have something to do to spend time with my son while he was here that also interested him, I started watching the games that he was watching.

Honestly, it was his passion that got me hooked more than watching the games themselves. But after getting hooked, I started enjoying the games more and more. Now its my favorite sport to watch. Easily.

Long story short: My favorite teams are my son's favorite teams.

I was like 6 I think. Saw United playing AC Milan. United was wearing blue and my favorite color is blue. Simple

Dortmund -- they were on TV a lot when my son's first club coach said we have to pick a team and follow them. After watching a couple games, I realized that they are LSU's counterpart in Europe and the Yellow Wall is akin to our beloved Deaf Valley.

Their style of play is fun to watch, and it is the same style I teach to my players. Creative, fast, aggressive, beautiful ball. I was sad to see them lose their way last couple years but so far under the new manager they have been very impressive

Dortmund has always been a very Neutral club for me. I don’t hate them and I don’t love them. They are just there. I root for them against Bayern though.

My select coach as a kid grew up with Ian Rush. He came to visit the states when I was U-12 and came to a few games. I didn’t know who he was at the time, but he brought us Liverpool kits and T-shirts and was a nice man. Only years later did I realize he was one of the best players in the world.

I lived in North Yorkshire in the 90s and got to watch Lucas Radebe and Tony Yeboah. Then came the great yet terrible 99-00 Champions League season.

Marching on together, we love you, Leeds.

Giving up on Leeds now would be a betrayal. We've made it this far, and we're almost back. You know you want us back in the Premiership. The world needs villains, and no one knows how to hate like we do.

Haha, Dortmund was on my list. They seem very Texas A&Mish. Have the money and talent but always playing second fiddle to another local team. I'll be in Germany next month but won't be able to make a Dortmund game. I'll be hitting wolfsburg v Mainz though. That's all the travel plans allow for.

He's referring to TSC Eintracht Dortmund, or perhaps he meant "domestic" not "local."
