We’re going to get embarrassed next summer. Depending on the draw could face a real thrashing or 2.

Maybe Gregg had this shite roster over performing.

All goodwill that Poch had is now lost.

Poch hasn’t been a good coach since 2017-2018. Even in Spurs’ Champions League season they generally sucked.

He should’ve never gotten a second cycle, especially with how it was handled, but from 2020-22, we at least had players playing with pride for the badge. Attack sucked under him, but we were really good in the back and raised our level against Mexico.

He had his faults, but it was easy for fans to make him the scapegoat instead of punching down on the players.

I got downvoted to hell when I said Poch was underwhelming.

Playing out of the back is resevered for prime Barcelona quality teams. Otherwise you’re literally just passing the ball from defender to defender, then up to a midfielder who one touches it back to a defender because of light pressure. Poch did this same shite with underwhelming Chelsea too. It’s so hard to watch being down a goal or two in the 81st minute and watching them just pass it around with zero urgency

Even as a Spurs fan, I don’t want him back. Loved what he did, but he hasn’t been able to have any success since then. I was hoping he could at least get the USMNT team to play for the badge, because he’s always been slightly underwhelming tactician.

Hire an American if that’s a prerequisite.

Maybe we need to hit rock bottom to see some change. I think that was a problem with Gregg. He'd always get a win when he was on deaths door to bail him out. So we were just coasting. Maybe this failure snaps Poch into kicking some asses.

Or we might just suck.

First competitive home loss to CAN since 1957. That’s pretty low.

We suck

We already hit rock bottom… 2017 in Cuova. We haven’t fully recovered from that yet

As for Poch’s rock bottom… it should’ve been when we got absolutely outclassed by Mexico after them having been our bitch for the last 4 years.

Mexico would’ve beaten us by 4 goals tonight.

Is it time for the official fire Poch thread?

This is downright embarrassing. Our B squad should be more competitive than this

Gregg and Bunker Bob are the two most under-appreciated USMNT managers, by far.

The fire Gregg thread came after a nations league loss to Canada so yeah probably

I don’t understand how we have a big name manager but look worse in the defense and still stagnant on offense.

Wonder what Jesse with USA would look like

He would be kicking arse and taking names with this team. No way a Jesse Marsch squad wanders the pitch with no fire like this. Half of the starters wouldn't even be out there.

Isn’t Poch a notorious slow burn manager? He got off to disastrous starts at PSG and Chelsea and then got them playing much better during his second seasons there. Of course, a manager like that might not be the best fit for international football where they only get to train players for one week every couple months.

First time during the Pulisic era that I no longer believe we're an underachieving team that will eventually grow into their talent. We're straight up below average and we're not a top 30 team.
