Damn. Good performance really. We just have to get a nine. Or figure out how to play with a false nine.
Also just three brain farts defensively. Fairly innocuous crosses, especially numbers 2 and 3. And we just didn’t mark guys.

quote:agree. How the goals were given up was really frustrating. Played toe to toe with England and Netherlands, but not quite enough class to be on that level yet.
Depressing match Thought the Pulisic early miss was a warning shot More like a sign of how things were going to go Love to see what happens in that one goes in
Unlike what the other guy side, the US is pretty close. Maybe a change at the top and another 4 years will be enough.

Could have been 5-1…they dominated this game. Different sport they were playing today on the FIELD!!

Gio Reyna getting one half and seven minutes is an atrocity

There was about 5 different times a player could have gone down in agony, Netherlands got a card, and we get a free kick from a dangerous position. When someone’s on a card they can’t play aggressive, they can’t stop a build up. There’s a reason the entire planet goes down and cries, it works. Downvote me, but I’m right, and I’m fricking sick of these pride brownie points the Americans think we get

Berhalter has been a good coach. But he's Mark Richt, he got us there but can't get us over the hump

besides this game US was the only team to not concede a goal in open play

We played right into their hands
We got chances but are no where clinical enough
When you get limited chances you have to finish at this level
And having an MLS striker leading the line usually isn’t going to cut it

You don't know what you're watching, and you need to go back to bed.

We aren’t even remotely close to being a serious threat in this sport…not even close!!
Take of the Day nominee…
All I hear about is the “chances” the U.S. had.
Just wait till 4 years!!! Ohhhh wait, we get to watch the U.S get run on its own soil!!! So much fun!

We’ve gone blow for blow with the Netherlands almost everywhere on the field. They are not miles ahead of us as a unit. But they have the right tactical guidance to create issues in attack and the quality to finish them and we lack both. Can’t compete if you can’t score.
Dutch are a good not great team this year and controlled the entire game. One fluke goal doesn’t mean you stayed blow for blow with them.
Until the US gets a real manager/coach and stops the federation from coddling rich parents’ kids in a bogus training system, they will continue to be mediocre even against countries with 1/100th of t for population.

I wonder if I will ever see the US in a WC final.
Not unless we get a real coach.
Netherlands might not win it all, but someone like van gaal knows what to do to get them to the semis, I don’t know if they have enough to take down Brazil, but prob will finish 3rd.

Man frick Berhalter, and that game. I’m gonna go stuff my face with fajitas, and cheap beer now.

Well we need to find some center backs and strikers for the next one.

The Dutch did not dominate that game. They were just clinical. A couple of shots from the top of the box go a yard left or right and they don’t score.
Pulisic and Ream score borderline wide open chances and we score 3.
That being says frick berhalter and his refusal to try out a false nine. And playing a fricking mls shite stain at 9. Fireable.

I was watching. I watched the Netherlands have a couple of goal attempts in the last 10 mins that we had incredible saves on. Maybe 6-1. Not. Even. Close!!!!

Their tactics were to let us have the ball bc they know we are a fauex Barca/City and can’t break them down
