Hell with 4G on my phone I already do 90% of my Internet on here even though I have a laptop at home with fiber internet i still use my phone. Only thing I use my internet for at home is gaming and Netflix it’s almost not even justified honestly

Hopefully one day people will learn that free market capitalism is the only way to get the best possible product at the cheapest price. The more govt intervenes, the higher the cost and shittier the product.

Reason is monopolies cannot exist in a true free market. If one does exist that means it found the absolute perfect quality product/service and offers it at the lowest possible price to turn a profit. If it can exist in that state in perpetuity, then there’s nothing wrong with the monopoly. If govt never intervenes to regulate out competition or protect this monopoly, then competition will arise the moment the monopoly strays from its perfect model.

he United States now trails only Singapore, Hong Kong, Iceland, Romania, and South Korea in overall broadband download speed.

All of those countries are about like wiring one U.S. city. It's easy for everyone to have fiber-optic lines when they live within a 10 mile radius.

Sadly, People will continue to believe in folly.

People mistakenly believe monopoly = charge anything the business wants. This isn’t true. Not even close.

Except, you're forgetting that the ISPs kindly requested the government to pay for their infrastructure upgrades rather than spending their own money. They want government funds to build private networks and then no government oversight after. Pick one or the other.

Exactly. Which makes our ranking all the more impressive.

Liberals - you truly consider yourself the intelligent side, but are LITERALLY wrong in everything you sky scream about.

Revisit every drastic issue --- not one of them came true. Not one. You are always wrong.

Yet, intelligent left, you will undoubtedly be screaming about something terrible and new, sometime next week, because the media will tell you to. And guess what, that also will prove to be a false flag.

You must give credit to the ultra rich white guys sitting at the top of the Democratic party -- The way they play your strings -- makes Geppetto look like a fricking puppeteer hack.

After all, they did convince you lemmings that you are independent thinkers..... all the way off the cliff.

Is the company Speedtest not the right source for this information? LINK Because that what the article in the OP is referencing.

Do you have another source for broadband speeds by country?

Also 5G will be 1000x faster than fiber. So curious to see what the major ISPs do to keep customers.

5G will not be providing you 10-40 Terabits/second. NG-PON2, backwards compatible with existing GPON deployments, will be able to deliver 10-40 Gbit/sec (synchronous) to residential users.

I'm on spectrum also. 200mbps here, also. So nice.

I'm concerned though. How many minorities had to die in the streets..because of this speed boost? No less than 90 million, I think.

R.i.p minorities.

If 5G can provide 3-4 Gbps wireless as advertised there won't be many people demanding NG-PON2 at 10-40 Tbps (which is insane speeds). At least for awhile.

Internet speeds may be through the roof but It’s taking me twice as long to get to work because of all the dead bodies scattered along the streets.

100x faster than fiber and 1000x faster than 4G.

Sorry for the error.

Speed is still ridiculous.
