Talking in exaggerations is one of the things that got us to this shite show we’re in now as a country.

Before this overturned case what was the law prior ? I give you a hint , it was from a case from 1850’s that was also based upon loosely on the 14th amendment that stood till Roe bs decision

Not enough comparable. One is in the constitution as a federally controlled right that states can’t touch (aren’t supposed to be able to).

this type of change would need to be absolutely bullet proof to avoid massive upheaval.
It is. Is it in the constitution? No. So it’s up to the states.

They wouldn’t be outlawing a single person from getting an abortion, just correctly leaving the federal government out of it and leaving it up to the states.

I don't get why it's hotly contested.

The supreme court won't ban abortion. They are just putting the matter where it belongs. In the hands of the states.

The 2nd amendment can't be stripped by the states, but the states, individually, can and have restricted what it means.

On that note, the constitution DOES state we have the right to LIFE, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. So, roe should be unconstitutional... Unless in New York, where you can kill a 2 week old "premature baby"

Their job isn’t to make people happy. It’s to interpret the Constitutionality of the law.

The dope? Stay off it.

It's such a hotly contested subject that, no matter if the judges are right or wrong (legally speaking), this type of change would need to be absolutely bullet proof to avoid massive upheaval.

Like what happened when Roe was (wrongly) decided 50 years ago?

quote:

Then to have that decision leaked to the press leads me to believe there is an agenda of which we are not aware.

Yes. The left is trying to pressure some of the justices in the majority to change their vote. As a side effect, they believe it will energize their protest class.

No, this is more like overturning Plessy v Ferguson. Upheaval to be sure but nothing close to overturning a damn Amendment---which cannot be done short of amending said amendment out of existence. That has happened precisely once.

No. Please cite what part of the constitution enumerates abortion as a right.

JFC, you believe this, don’t you?

That is the Declaration. It is not a governing document. Its soaring rhetoric is aspirational, but it does not create rights any more than a press release would do so.
