You cited an article about per capita GDP. Fine, but that’s a different statement than the one that I quoted. Again, words are important. They mean things.

All that matters in this case is that the largest economy in Europe, Germany, has a weaker per capita GDP than our smallests and poorest state, MS.

If this were an economics class then your insistence that words have meanings and therefore we should have points deducted would be valid, but this is a chit chat board on a sunday morning, so it doesn’t.

It seems like you posted a reason why we’re ahead, and not an argument against it..?

Cool. That wasn’t the statement that I quoted.

Ah, the ole “I don’t need no book learning” thing. This is one reason why there are so many retards on this board. You don’t have to be in an economics class to say what you mean and mean what you say.

Circa 2005, the standard of living in the USA and Western Europe were practically even. Watching all these Europeans realizing that even the poorest Americans are living better than they do is going to be a wake up call.

Honestly seems like perfect timing for terrorist cells to act in the US.

You seem really angry for some reason. No need for the hostility and name calling.
Given the context of OP it wasn’t hard to see the point that was being made though. I appreciate you helping us all arrive at the more correctly stated facts. And I agree with you, it’s always better when possible to say what you mean and men’s what you say.

I remember when Europeans were allegedly more sophisticated and intelligent than the rest of the world. They looked down on Americans and thought we were all just a bunch of rednecks. Now they have just as much poverty and crime as us and are full of foreigners from the 3rd world.

Thousands of years of building European civilization and cultures for them to completely throw away in like what, 20 years?

I'm not a soccer fan at all, but the wife and myself decided we would check out the FIFA Fan Fest activities in downtown KC......let's just say the soccer crowd is quite different from the NFL fans who showed up for the 2023 NFL Draft in KC. The level of testosterone down at FIFA Fan Fest was higher in the lesbian women attending than the bun wearing men in attendance.

I was stationed in AK in the late 80's when the Russian's visited. Fighter jets, the largest military transport in the world and a bunch of big wigs. The Discovery Channel was there to document it.

Most of them couldn't believe how many privately owned vehicles were on base, the commissary (grocery store), BX, etc.

You’re link shows he is correct.
The US does not have a PPP GDP higher than all EU countries, and the statement he disagreed with: The lowest US state has a higher GDP than any EU country is far from true.

It is true that even adjusting for PPP the US is pulling away from the EU.

And I believe we’re ahead. Almost everyone besides Krugman does.

My argument was that we are not so far ahead that the lowest GDP state is above the highest GDP European nation.

You could be right. Smug eurotrash still think they are on economic par with the US and can lecture us on energy policy, immigration and free healthcare.

If we really follow through with removing forces from NATO, they're going to find out real quick.
