Trump is the commander in chief of the armed forces. He is in uniform at all time even when he is butt arse naked giving a few inches to Melania.

As a veteran, this is a strange hill to die on. Honestly, I don't care whether the President is Trump or anyone else—I’m not concerned with whether they salute the flag during the National Anthem. To me, it’s simply not that big of an issue because he is, after all, the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the United States.
It’s not as if the President is claiming military service or engaging in stolen valor. There are plenty of important issues worth debating, but this one seems pretty far down the list.

The follow hundreds of my rules about the flag people are just as annoying as the disrespect the flag people.
Leftists one minute:
"Donald Trump is saluting the flag!! WTF?!?! What about proper decorum?!?!?"
Leftists the next minute:
"Burn it!!! It's our right!! Racist flag!! Symbol of hate, bigotry, and white oppression!!! Set it on fire!!!"

It’s unclear why Trump chooses to salute during the national anthem as he has never served in the armed forces, famously facing allegations that he cited bone spurs to get out of the draft during the Vietnam War.
Now tell us about Biden & Clinton’s illustrious record of military service. Obama was an SF Recon Ranger right? Such a hypocritical gotcha and it’s so played out and tired

As leader of the free world, he may just be a "big boy".

POTUS Trump is a Combat Veteran and a Purple Heart Recipient in this World War between Globalists and American Republican Constitutionalists.
Trump is the Commander in Chief of the Army of MAGA.
Trump is the Commander in Chief of the Army of MAGA.

You posted an article that's written by someone from Russia?
Posted on 6/9/26 at 9:39 am to CrystalPreserves
So now the media and these other folks are concerned about what somebody does during the anthem?
You can't make this shite up.
You can't make this shite up.

Why does Trump keep saluting during the national anthem?
Because he fricking wants to. And he's the CIC. If I was, I'd salute too.

It’s appropriate

Of the United States Armed Forces.
I seriously can't believe you went through the trouble to type that all out, when it took me literally ten seconds to type out the two sentences above ^^^ that explained everything.
If you have a dog, please don't torture it with the shock collar today.

The salute isn't really the issue.
The issue is that Trump spent his youth avoiding military service, spent years mocking people who were captured or served, and now constantly adopts military imagery as part of his public brand.
Nobody is accusing him of stolen valor. I'm pointing out the irony. If a politician wants the symbolism and respect associated with military service, people are free to discuss the fact that he is a draft dodger.
Poliboard baws don’t like to read long enough to find my point of emphasis from the article, but that is why I put that portion of what I copy & pasted in bold text at the end of the OP. The bubbas and the baws were too quick on the trigger and had to reply in a hurry, anxious to defend Mr Bone Spurs.

Note - You can nullify my claim above by linking your posts congratulating Trump for anything he has done so far in his two terms. Your move.

This is a really minor issue to quibble over but that’s not an unreasonable take. Reagan caught grief for similar reasons as did GWB.

The man is trying to save our entire country from getting taken over by scumbag socialists and turning the entire country into a communist California and here you are bitching about him saluting the national anthem - wow
Posted on 6/9/26 at 10:13 am to CrystalPreserves
because he is the commander in chief. AKA top military dog.

I agree it’s a relatively minor issue. What’s interesting is that nobody seems to object when a poliboard thread spends days dissecting a politician’s facial expression, a tweet, a gaffe, or a five-second video clip. Apparently it’s only “too minor to discuss” when the subject is something they don’t like.

“The man is saving the country” isn’t an argument. It’s a slogan.
