I don't mind higher property taxes because it seems like my local government uses them wisely. I benefit from them in the form of amenities and good facilities. If I ever felt like they were wasting it then yeah I'd be mad about an increase.

It's not that they don't pay property taxes. They are just too stupid to understand how their rent is affected by property taxes. Our HS education system is a failure.

People who don’t ‘own’ property vote for it because want stuff and are too stupid to realize it is baked into their rents.
Section 8 or other HUD program properties don't pay anywhere near their assessed values.

I am shocked we gave more $$$ to the woefully corrupt and incompetent council on aging.

Wow. Sounds like you are getting taxed coming and going. I have not ever understood the RE tax. It just does not make sense.

Of course government will use its lover, the MSM (Lying Media) to indoctrinate the citizens to support the theft.

Where in LA are illegals voting?

Or... just like in Zachary... if it fails in a big election... just find a low turnout election to get it back on the ballot and pass

Your point is valid and I agree with you in principle but your example is factually incorrect.

Zachary didn't fail in a big election in Nov 2025. There were no actual candidates on that ballot so it had an atrocious turnout. There were 1500 more total votes yesterday (36%) than the election where it was voted down and less people voted against the tax than Nov ballot.

The true bullshite part is how come the voters can vote down a 20 year tax and it's back on the ballot 6 months later. Passes with a 30% voter turnout and the voters are stuck with this tax for 20 years. In my opinion there should be some form of restrictions on shite taxes getting back on the ballot.

Our neighborhood association was able to set up a security district with a private patrol by voting for a dedicated tax… It worked…

Because people are stupid,
All you have to do is tell them "It's for the children" and they vote Yes

I pay 3600 a year on home I paid 350k for and 6500 a year on a warehouse that I paid 150k for. Not sure what entity comes up with the rates or how they figure them. I’ve had enough of them raising taxes as well.
