Not just rent.
Because the local merchants have to pay more rent to their landlords as well.
Their cost of doing business goes up as a result, so prices do too.

Thank your friends and neighbors that were too busy to vote yesterday or do early voting. I voted against all 3 propositions. Bottom line is citizens can’t be bothered to pay attention to how the government constantly fricks them over so we get what we deserve. I agree it’s infuriating
