I'm just laughing at the implication that there's a side of public education that isn't socialist

If you divide all the large schools into smaller schools you'll need more teachers which would create a teacher shortage.

You would have learning facilitators, with less teachers providing remote instruction to larger numbers of pods.

A make-work, jobs program for black women and loser white people.

Public education? Socialism.

Roads? Socialism.

Fire stations? Believe it or not, socialism.

You are free to home school your kids. There are plenty of private schools in the United States. Public education isn't the only option.

But if I choose either of those other options I am still forced to pay for government schools and employees.

We're talking about schools, not Congress.

We tried this over COVID and the results were detrimental to a whole generation of kids, many of whom still haven't caught up.

The correct infrastructure wasn’t in place during that era IMO.

Yep. If you don't call the fire department or police, you still pay for those services, too. It's the opportunity cost of living in a society.

None of these things are, or should be, the mission of public education.

This is an example of one of the reasons the system is failing.

Public schools aren’t a “make work” program as much as they are an “allow work” program.

The amount of people I have call out or beg to have a remote day is staggering when schools are out for whatever reason.

Until households don’t need two incomes to live comfortably, public schools are necessary for this country to function.

I derive benefit from those services. Not so much from children who are born to parents who can’t afford them.

1. Kids do need to socialize.
2. Teachers Unions concentrate power by keeping teachers employed.

I’ve felt for long before Covid our education system was trash.

Yep.

If you start looking at government subsidies, then

Oil subsidies? Socialism
Farm subsidies? Socialism

Federal bailouts? Socialism
