I’ve always been conservative but have only voted 3 times and I’m 45.

I forgot to early vote for Trumps first run and was at my ranch for deer season but stayed up late to watch the results. I make it a priority to vote now but didn’t really pay attention once I tuned 18.

Confession time... I wasn't registered in '08... begged my husband to vote for Obama because of Hope and Change.
By 2016 I was solidly conservative... Mr Hope and Change cured me of bi-partisanship.

My views haven't really changed, but by 1999 standards I was a moderate Democrat which by today's standards makes me alt right.

I've never been liberal. My dad would've slap it out of me if I came home spouting liberal bs. So I never gave it a try. Never saw the appeal anyway. Guess I have no heart.

Gamergate in 2014. I was shocked that corporations and industries were getting involved in online culture war discourse and taking the side of the leftists while waving their fingers at half of their customers.

Always a conservative but I had been too accepting of liberals in the past. After years of watching them try to take down capitalism, no more acceptance. Protection is the only way.

My parents were Democrats until Jimmy Carter. They voted for Reagan in 80 and that was about the time I began to develop any sort of consciousness about things political. Both Ford and Carter were a joke to me. I don't really have any memory of LBJ or Nixon.

Here. I've said more than enough by this point as to why I have move more right. Though I am still pro abortion, gay marriage (can't stand the tranny movement), pro drug legalization, pro prostitution, and fiscally "right".

I flirted with the idea of being liberal in college. Never voted or anything, but was open minded about it. Then I saw Obama win on the platform of "Change". Nothing changed, but he was still celebrated. Thought that was stupid. Then a guy with real ideas for change came along in the democrat party (Bernie Sanders). "They" sabotaged his campaign to install Hillary Clinton. Got caught actually cheating to help her win. That's when i said, O ok, the Dems really are just dishonest and have ulterior motives. Now I'm older and and aware of all the crime and terrible behavior that is encouraged and protected by the democrat party. They are directly ruining the country and unraveling the way of life that made this country great. I don't know how any successful people can support the democrat party now.

I did the opposite. Was a staunch Republican. I used to watch the O'Reilly Factor every night in high school and I actually enjoyed it. Went to LSU and was still super Republican. Then I graduated and started thinking more about the world around me. Moved back to New Orleans and worked in public schools for a while, which helped me realized a lot of the things I "knew" were just things I had been told my whole life and accepted without thought.
I would say that I probably was drawn to the Democrat party for a year or two but then I kept living, experiencing, observing, thinking and realized that all politicians are the different sides of the same coin. Now I'm politically homeless.
I have journals from high school and early college where I talk about becoming a US Senator someday.
Now I don't even think I could stomach a City Council post. I value integrity too much.

This. Whatever you want to call it. My views are the same. The same stuff bill and joe were taking about in the 80s is what the right is fighting for today. It's easy to see which direction the scale went. It's all documented and on vid. It's not up for debate.

I worked in the Reagan primary campaign in 76, lost to Ford, voted for Ford in 76, my first Presidential vote. Have never voted for a dem for pres, I do think a couple of times I voted Libertarian before they became wackos

Dad raised me to be a Kennedy Democrat. In the mid-90s when I became a legal adult, I was a Clinton Democrat and registered (D).
Today I'm a staunch Conservative Minarchist and registered Independent. It happened because of the Obama Presidency. The pinkos shot their wad back then and showed the world exactly who they really are. I didn't like what they showed me.
