Jackson was definitely in my top 3 choices... BUT, George Washington was a giant and tough as nails and he slaughtered brits while they slept on Christmas. That's some savage shite. If it was a straight up fist fight, Teddy might have taken both of them... Jackson was diabolical though. It's definitely between those three for me.

Probably Lincoln since he reportedly wrestled a lot when he was younger. Allegedly participated in 300 informal matches and only lost once. Second choice would be Jackson who was known to physically assault or threaten to kill people constantly. Plus dude would probably be considered a raving lunatic in today's times. Third Teddy Roosevelt who often had sparring matches inside the White House until an injury caused him to stop boxing and take up jiu-jitsu instead.

Lincoln was supposedly a scrapper. And the dude had some reach.

This is the best answer. Lincoln was a stud, and he was a wrestler. I have little doubt that he would clean house on the rest of them. Now, if you let each man in his prime compete, Lincoln would still be a good choice, but some others would be too.

Andrew Jackson would also be an acceptable answer ,but he was small. Edit: I was thinking about Madison, Jackson wasn't small.

It was Hessians, not Brits, but your point still stands.
