Seems more worried about a certain type of black people “enjoying a great American pastime,” namely the ones who make up a single digit percentage of the U.S. Population but commit the vast majority of crime, including over half the murders in the U.S. on an annual basis. Yep. Jax beach used to be a thug free zone now there are dodge chargers cruising the streets blasting rap music and doing the take over thing.
And strangely enough, gun violence followed.
From a shooting 6 days ago. She doesn’t live anywhere close to the beach.

The crowd inside the ticket concerts is still a good crowd (with exception of a few themed nights). The crowd out by the fair games is bad.

Been a while. And this has been spring break week. Try to go early just for the carnival and spring break crowd takes that over too.
Add to that the location has always been a problem. Anyone who can walk up to the rodeo is walking from a BAD neighborhood.
Enough shite keeps happening and they may close down the fairgrounds. Just my opinion. Or at least have an area for only those with concert tickets. You know. Separate but equal…….??

This exact scenario has played out at several LSU home football games over the last few years. Last year reached critical mass when shootings occurred on campus on game day. “Supposedly” LSU and local / state authorities have taken measures to fix this. I don’t think it’s fixable. Societal downward spirals in multiple metro areas of the US are beyond repair. Straight up war zones. The rodeo is not immune to this.
