What is more catastrophic (Iran with a nuke, or Dems in power)

I had this debate with my Mom. She is 100% convinced Trump made the right decision because Iran was definitely going to get the bomb and use it.
I said, fine I will even go with your premise. However, I still believe Democrats in power are far more deadly and catastrophic to the world, and specifically to our own country than whatever Iran would be capable of doing with a nuclear weapon.
The only issue I care about right now is keeping Democrats out of power, and Republicans (Trump included) have not followed though with the mission.

Which mission? Iran?
If so, it certainly appears that way but with Trump, what we see isn’t nearly what’s actually happening. There is a stated goal but we’re just not aware of it despite his bluster.
There is no way he is letting the world suffer without an ace up his sleeve so I still trust in his mission.
This coming from a guy who doesn’t even like Trump as president.

Yes, I would love to take a more offensive strategy instead of simply stopping the Dems. But that is basically the bare minimum we need to do, and the mission appears to have failed.
I wish I could care more about Iran and whatever they are trying to do, I just don’t and no one else does. No one believes or is convinced that Iran is capable of attacking the main land. And we all know if they even attempted they would be turned into glass.

“Why not just continue what we were doing in January, Mom? You know, concentrating ALL our effort and money on ending their nuclear program? Why acquiesce to Israel and fight their war and damage our economy and risk “Dems in power?”

This assumes that the only way to stop Iran from obtaining a nuke was to initiate a conflict that would result in ..well the situation we have now.

Too much intelligence between the various agencies for them to actually build one. Their best hope is to get one from their neighbor, and that ain’t happening unless they are allowed to do so.
