I thought we should have canceled all debts owed to China or Chinese institutions
China owns like 1/40th of the debt. So, yeah - we could pay off 2.5% of it if we did that!

The Democrats and the Swamp conspired to destroy his Presidency before it began. How much time ane energy was wasted dealing with the lies of Russiagate?

You think it will be less hostile this time around buddy? If he is ineffective in a hostile environment then I have bad news for you. It will be even more hostile this time.

HOW are we going to pay off the debt, must less "fast"?

What's the plan, Stan?

At least the Dems have plans for the crap they want to push.

Trump is all talk.

How much did he reduce the debt the first time?

"Oh, it will be differnt this time". Why? How?

Before we even think about paying off debt, we have to get our spending under our tax revenue. And we are FAR away from that.

So you'd rather poor brown children be paid pennies a day so you can buy cheap rubber dog shite? I thought Democrats were the empathetic ones who cared about everyone's feelings. Turns out, you only have to make liberals pay extra for rubber dog shite and they forget everything they pretend to be.

Guess your head being so far up Trump's azz you didn't notice the Russia hoax took up a lot of his time then phony impeachments. Then again I never heard him say he was going to pay off the national debt either.

Just print money, pay off the debt with it, then change currency treating the old like we did Confederate currency. Simple. Or pay it off with all the money owed us and collect using the military. See two easy solutions.

In reality he was far more effective than Biden even with the hostile environment. You are right about hostile. Biden is shortly going to create chaos and we will then have to hunt all the leftists down and deport them along with the illegals.

Why do we use GDP when calculating a debt to income ratio for the federal government? The GDP is not the government's income, it's the whole country's. If you want to do D/I for GDP, then you have to look at ALL debt, public and private. If you simply want to compare federal debt to income, you'd have to look at just federal revenues as income.

Otherwise what you're saying is that the entire GDP is available to finance the federal debt. I don't think that's right.

I understand your line of thought but first off, GDP and federal income should be proportionally linear. So measuring federal income to debt is like looking at a shadow to determine the size of the object instead of the object itself. Tax rates can go up and down, so just knowing tax income would not be enough information to underwrite a loan.

Debt to GDP is in effect, a country's public debt to it's gross domestic product. That debt is not some castle on a hill's debt, it's your debt as a American citizen. If you were underwriting the united states and it's citizens, you want to know all the income of the public of the entire country, because you want to know what the chance of a default is. You don't want to know what income they got, you want to know what income they have possibility of getting to avoid a default.

Another way to think about it. A business goes to get a loan, the bank isn't going to just ask what their profit last year is, that doesn't really tell you anything about their risk of default. The bank wants to see your whole income statement (top and bottom line), and your balance sheet ( assets and liabilities.) They want to see what the total possible squeeze and collateral is if shite hits the fan.

We are talking about people who believe there is currently a WALL along our southern border. And Trump built it and there was nothing there before 2017.
