This is “White Guilt”(whatever that is)gone psycho. Our state is too white, diversity is our strength… Blah fricking blah.

Washington state was the hot bed of racial discrimination, wasn't it?

Washington State has gender laws prohibiting discrimination against a.personed expressed gender identity. If, I lived in Washington State and was to file a lawsuit I would use this gender law as the foundation of the lawsuit. My argument would be that if the state recognizes discrimination of gender expression then they should also recognize discrimination of expression of race.

Discrimination laws are foundationally based on race, sex, age, religion, ethnicity. My point is that the state cannot pick and choose which class can be partitioned for discrimination and if they make an exception for one class then all classes should have rights to an exception and be partitioned.

Instead of using race or sex, let's use ethnicity or religion. Can the state institute a monetary consideration for only people of Baptist faith? Can they specifically exclude Baptists and give monetary consideration to all others? No, and it would not even make it to trial. The same can be made for race.

As someone who spent the most of his years in states that were at least 20% black I welcome Washington's decision to attract as many such people as possible. Feel free to take them all!

It seems to me that sane people would have left this state long ago.

So many other non-crazy places to live.

Seems outrageous and discriminatory - are there no duration of prior residency requirements?

I'd be cool with my state covering their moving expenses to Washington State.

More black people probably live in metro New Orleans area than the entire state of Washington.
I'd bet money on it. Only two or three areas in WA with black people in any real numbers. I used to live in the blackest neighborhood in the entire PNW (Hilltop, Tacoma) and they still only made up like 25%.

Even then, this happened:
quote:

The Hilltop was once notorious for drug-related gang activity, most notably related to the infamous Hilltop Crips.[5] The word "Hilltop" became synonymous specifically with Tacoma's gang problems, and more generally with urban pathologies associated with the US's crack epidemic.

The Hilltop gained a reputation for drugs and violence with the Mother's Day riots in the 1970s. In the early 1980s, Tacoma civic leaders sought federal dollars by accepting a large number of Cuban refugees after the Cuban Adjustment Act and the Cuban Relocation Program.[6] Many of the Cubans were prison inmates released by Castro who violently took over the illicit drug trade on Tacoma’s Hilltop. Around 1984, an unknown Los Angeles Crip association began organizing local Hilltop youth to sell primarily powder and crack cocaine. A yearlong violent struggle between Cuban dealers and the Crips ensued. Eventually, Cubans involved in the drug trade were murdered or left town. By September 23, 1989, the Hilltop Crips had become powerful, with violence and homicides at a peak, and police departments overwhelmed. Hilltop made national news in 1989 when several United States Army Rangers got into a shootout with suspected gang members in what came to be known as the Ash Street shootout.[7][8]

I dont know why this wasnt included in the tweet:

quote:

The cost assistance is funded with a new $100 document recording fee charged on real estate transactions, which went into effect in January. The state estimates the fee will bring in between $75 million and $100 million a year.

Raise your hand if you want to pay an extra $100 everytime you buy or sell property so that the only group that failed to assimilate in some manner in the past 2 centuries can get free housing

1) 4cubbies is moving to Washington.

2) She is choosing to identify as a black person again. (Yesterday she morphed into a blonde white woman).

That is the very definition of “systemic racism”.
