The filibuster against Supreme Court justices is gone, so I think he could get 4 more. I don’t see him trying though.

As much as I hate and distrust the dimocrats, I think packing the court is an empty threat simply to drum up votes.

I disagree. They are crazy but not stupid. They have proven time and again they are willing to do anything to gain power. If and when they have control of Congress and POTUS, they will absolutely do everything and anything they can to remain in control.
Think about it this way, what could they not do with 3 or 4 more KBJ's???

You are almost right. Trump didn't tell Georgians to stay home for the runoff for that senate seat in 2020. But others did. There were billboards all over red country telling people to not vote in the runoff because it was all rigged. That affected turnout in those areas, allowing Warnock to squeak out a win.
In 2022, where Warnock had to run again (6 years normally, but because the seat was previously held by an appointee due to the previous senator resigning/dying, he had to defend his seat just 2 years later), Walker was not an ideal candidate but still forced a runoff in that election.

FDR tried that sh!t back in the 1930s. It didn't go over very well with congress at the time. Of course, this is a very *different* congress these days, even if it is "Republican" controlled.

I've been saying that Trump should respond to this. He should say "Our friends on the left want to pack the Supreme Court. I think it's a great idea. We are going to appoint 4 more conservative Justices this year."

This would help him is Roberts, Thomas, or Alito retire in the next 2 years, but would not help add 4 new seats

They were making the court packing threats during the 2020 election after Trump named 3 and gave the Republicans a "6-3 edge", and they did not do it under Biden. Maybe if one of their 3 have to suddenly leave office and Trump gets to make it a 7-2 swing, do I see them actually going through with their threats
