It's worked pretty well for over 150 yrs. We need an amendment to keep it at 9. Although there are probably enough blue states to block an amendment.

It’s not unconstitutional to increase the size of the court, and the number of justices has been increased four times before. It is unconstitutional for the President to do so.

There is something elegant about Trump proposing to increase the seats and beating the Dems out of the gate. It will also be wild watching them talk themselves into pretzels in an another year like they’ve done the past 15 years about the importance of the filibuster.
