At some point the wealth inequality will create societal problems.

Contemporary research finds that the increase in wealth inequality since the 1970s is due entirely to 2 things

1) the huge appreciation in real estate pricing
2) individuals taking on debt to finance college (human capital)

The reason so many economists think it’s misleading to use college debt statistics to artificially lower the net worths of middle class Americans is because you are not including the increased earnings over a lifetime that a degree provides, while you are including the entire cost of obtaining those increased earnings.

The reason so many economists think it’s misleading to include real estate in wealth inequality stats is because higher real estate prices aren’t “capitalists stealing worker pay”. It’s just basic supply an demand

Exactly. The OP has no sense. The picture leading to the French Revolution looks more like the opposite of today’s USA.

France: The poor were the only ones taxed. USA: The affluent are the only ones taxed.
France: No social safety net for the poor; they starved. USA: The poor can live a life of leisure and be given food, shelter and medical care

Don't forget they had a "media" that made up the "Let them eat cake" line and God knows what else.

I don't know what retarded economists you're speaking of but soaring real estate prices preclude people with soaring debt to secure decent housing without being completely over leveraged. There are massive wealth gaps between generations because of these dynamics.

Why exactly is it desirable for low income individuals to own homes?

Do you think it’s only low income people who can’t afford houses?

Do you not realize that the bedrock of leftism is in fact no ownership of property. That is things like....houses.

Exactly right. Many do forget that he was a big Dem supporter and gave big donations, until...well he explains it himself.

You know who else was one? Beloved by Dems everywhere. They begged him to run for President throughout the 80's and 90's. He was a very good Dem until...well he explained it too.

Funny how when they go off the plantation, they become Nazis or some such shite.

Well, compared to France, leading up to 1789, we are. That’s the point, we are nothing like pre-revolution France.

When people hear the term “wealth inequality”, they immediately assume it refers to corporations and employers receiving higher profit margins over time at expense of lower wages. Aka it is companies exploiting workers

Supply and demand of housing does not involve exploitation, unless your position is that a middle class homeowner who has seen his home soar in value is “exploiting” someone

No I was extending credit where it likely wasn't due assuming Musk was the target of the incoherent screeching.

Not sure what point you’re trying to make by comparing the finances of a poor American to the finances of someone living in Papau New Guinea but noted.

The point is simple. The “poor” in America (that aren’t mentally ill or drug addicts) have the greatest chance of financial success of any people in the rest of the world.

The thing about being “poor” in America is that it is one of the few places on earth where your ladder of mobility is unlimited.

Three things are needed in America to not be poor: 1. Graduate High School 2. Get a job. 3. Don’t have kids before you’re married.

The govt employees are an estate above us peasants in the private sector. They’re also the largest employer from every small town to capital city so they outvote us when they hold those off date elections.

Thermidorian Reaction enters the chat

That’s pretty deep into the French Revolution. Took the Reign of Terror (which itself was a reaction) and a ton of guillotines to get there.

Addressing #2.....

1) A nearly $37 trillion dollar debt spiral with $1.2 trillion debt service
2) Debt to GDP ratio of 123%
3) Forward annual deficits estimated at $2 trillion
4) Over $100 trillion in unfunded liabilities
5) Federal Reserve carrying nearly $7 trillion debt on it's balance sheet
6) Gold smashing the $3300/oz
7) Many foreign nations are not buying but selling their US securities.

We're very close to using debt monetization as the primary method to finance Federal government deficit spending.

When Gen. Washington and his army crossed the Delaware just north of Trenton he used boats.

The river had chunks of ice in it but it was not completely frozen over.

Funny you mentioned that. The Delaware crossing was during one of the most bitter winters in lives of the American settlers. Washington credits the civilian boat captains that were intimately knowledgeable about the river with getting across and saving the army. Quite a few soldiers froze to death during that March and campaign. If they would have failed, it's likely that the war would have been lost.
It was a move as balsy as what Trump is doing!
