Well, props for eating your crow, but the politico “response” you posted was the funniest quote I’ve ever seen.
Random words were quoted. It wasn’t even a full quote.
The only aspect that was a “quote” consisted of “the only garbage” and a few words later “hatred”.

My impression of Mickey is he's like a lot of traditional liberals that cannot accept what the Dem party has devolved to, so they've become achingly naive/dupable. For example - they can't imagine a world where the Democrat party stands against 1st amendment rights and for enriching MIC, so they're blind to all the glaring evidence that that's precisely where the party is today.

Well, yeah - but you can be a progressive and have not completely lost your mind. Progressives have been around a lot longer than the craziness of today's Democrat party. There are a lot of liberals that would describe themselves as progressive that are not for the wide open border, mutilating kids, men competing in women sports, etc., etc.
I agree with your point about continued support of the Dem party but I think a lot of these old-time liberals are realizing they need to stop supporting Dems. I have no idea if Mickey is among them, but they are definitely out there. We've had threads on this board highlighting some.

Going into 2016, I wasn't a Trump supporter. I was not going to vote Hillary, but I wasn't into Trump. He was an outsider, a businessman, a bit of an attention hound. I knew of him since the 80's and the USFL (and before, if I recall correct), and I didn't think he was serious about it.
I was probably leaning Rubio, maybe Cruz.
Then, I watched. Like I said, I was fully aware of Trump, and he WASN'T a racist (not overtly, and he sure seemed to have a lot of black athletes and entertainers who liked him). Then I saw Oprah and Whoopie turn on him, and I remembered- they loved that motherfricker before he ran, now he's the devil?
If you want to give Kamala the benefit of the doubt, ok- she keeps saying he's a fascist, a threat to democracy. He was President from 2016 to 2020. Give me an example of it from then? Anything worse than jousting with the media corps?
You don't have to be a dyed in the wool Trump supporter, you just have to be able to see what's going on around him to realize there's a ton of blatant lies coming out of nowhere, at a magnitude we've never seen before. Once you see that, you can't unsee it.
