Van Jones on Trump win: ‘It turned out we were the idiots’

Jones bemoaned that many Democrats and mainstream media outlets were “laughing at Trump for throwing away his ground game and doing weird stuff online.”
“It turned out we were the idiots,” he continued. “We woke up in a body bag because while we were knocking on doors, they were making these phones into 24-hour-a-day political weapons for themselves.”
Trump won handily Tuesday, sweeping the seven swing states after weeks of spurning interviews with mainstream media outlets. He opted instead for appearances on popular podcasts and internet programs — including Joe Rogan’s and other shows with audiences predominantly made up of young men, a voting bloc the GOP candidate aggressively courted.
The Election Day losses have sparked much soul-searching and finger-pointing within the Democratic Party, which is attempting to regroup and chart a new path forward after Trump become the first Republican presidential candidate since 2004 and just the second since 1988 to win the popular vote. Not just that, he's missing the impact of Scott Presler and Turning Point. GOP had a massive ground game to turn out low propensity voters, and it worked.

very simple,,,,,the fact that Kamala was very, very stupid did not help

I know TP was doing campus visits all over but what did Scottie P do? I just haven’t followed him at all.

I don’t know a single person who doesn’t HATE when someone unsolicited knocks on their door. It would make me LESS likely to vote for their candidate.

Republicans were knocking on doors, too.
Elon Musk and Scott Presler have repeatedly explained how they helped turn Pennsylvania.

The problem they had.. podcasters were begging Trump to go on their podcast shows for free while Kamala was begging podcasters and wanted to pay them for her to go on their shows.
The influencers told her no and to frick off.

Some are wanting to cry that she just didn’t have enough time but the truth is she stalled out once the media driven “buzz” wore off. A longer campaign would have just further exposed her, they waited until the start of the 4th quarter to insert her for a reason

Turns out your messaging sucked and was a fraud. Then you went and picked two of the most unlikable and goofy candidates in history to try to sell it. You had to be blind not to see what was going to happen.

It comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel
Is just a freight train coming your way.

They are going to be working with big tech to try to shut the doors to conservative voice as much as possible. Maybe we have turned some sort of corner given the tweets from Zuck and Bezos, but I doubt it. My hunch is Youtube in 4 years will probably be a much different place than it is today.

The Dems entire ground game was outmatched by Scott Presler’s targeted approach. No one wants you knocking on their door so you can whine about democracy or some other dumb shite. Democrats live in a fantasy world where a fat woman and a skinny soy boy showing up at people’s doors to annoy them is what “doing the work” looks like. And they spent a billion on this shite.
ETA: If every election requires you to mobilize thousands of workers to drag your people to the polls, while the other side just shows up without any pushing. Then who really deserves power? We go out and get people registered and then they go. Dems have to hold their hand all the way to ballot box.

How did Presler and his people find those voters? Like what do you see as the process?

His group Early Vote Action registered tens of thousands of new Republican voters in PA (hunters, Amish, truckers, etc.)
