1950 The plot follows Reed and Police Captain Paul Douglas as they race against a 48-hour deadline to locate the murderer of a man found to be carrying pneumonic plague. The film features Jack Palance in his film debut as the gangster killer and Zero Mostel as his accomplice, blending crime procedural elements with public health drama. It won an Academy Award for Best Writing, Motion Picture Story.
Nothing new in the world, however this new thing is probably some gain of function shite, otherwise it wouldn't be a big deal. Pneumonic plague still shows up from time to time.
Don't know why you're getting down voted. This stuff is 100% fatal. I guess if there could be good news, it would be a fast burnout if people croak so soon.
Search result.....
The death rate for pneumonic plague varies drastically based on the timing of medical intervention. Untreated pneumonic plague is almost universally fatal, with a mortality rate approaching 100%; victims can die within 18 to 24 hours of symptom onset.

Advanced Biowarfare Technology is a given because if one don’t do it one’s enemy will. Especially the martyrdom-minded Jihadists. Unlike the Commies hey are suicidal fanatics who believe that WWIII will usher in their Imam and World Caliphate.
Moving fast and we’ll find out pretty quickly.

The way some on this board freaked out about the Hantavirus, this probably won't quell the hand wringing.

Okay so among the threats to humanity currently simmering across the globe which one is MOST likely to kill us all off......
1) A rogue A.I.
2) A particularly dangerous weaponized version of bubonic plague
3) A radical islamic terrorist tyrant armed with a nuke and determined to kill all infidels.
Hummm? I go with the "radical Islamist terrorist tyrant".
How did I arrive at that conclusion? Well, since it appears we've learned nothing from the 9/11 terrorist attack, and since a good portion of the American electorate is so drugged up on an assortment of happy pills, and who knows what, and couldn't respond to a threat of any sort, even if it was right in front of their faces, I say it's the BOMB.
Elections have consequences.

The plague wouldn't have been as bad way beck when if they had antibiotics.
I wouldn't worry about this shite.
And if I'm not mistaken, basically all these happen out west and in the 4 corners regions.
California, Nevada, Oregon, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado.

quote:Risk of spread is far less. Incubation period is shorter and the symptoms are far worse. Young folks could walk around spreading CV19, and not know they'd had anything but a cold.
This is Covid on steroids if not contained.
Interesting side note:
In September, the Russian Orthodox Church and Kremlin sent a Russian Saint's bone relics to the Ukrainian front to boost troop morale. Reports emerged on October 1st that the Russians supposedly lost the relics during a chaotic retreat in eastern Ukraine. Four days later the plague broke out.

Unless Shelekhov has an international airport I’m not worried about it

A good plaque might be just what this world needs. And not a BS one like Covid.
