I never would have thought I would ever be pulling for Susan Collins to win reelection. We live in very very strange times!

This board is too harsh on Susan Collins. She’s the best you’re gunna get in Maine. Her speech confirming Kavanaugh was very very good by the way.
Her electoral success is impressive. Has been in office since 1996. Won re-election in 2008 when Obama won Maine by 20+ points

I agree with you HHTM. As much as I want to disparage Susan Collins, I have to remember she is the best or beyond the best you are gonna get for the state of Maine. Murkowski on the other hand is an absolute disgrace being that Alaska is a solid red state.
So, I give Collins a c-minus rating for Republicans, but celebrate when she comes thru at times surprisingly.

She has been incredibly clutch in passing critical legislation (well, when we actually get some legislation to the point where she would be a deciding vote) and supporting USSC nominees.
She's 100% the best we could as for out of that state. It is what it is.

I dont know if i believe collins is a republican but sometimes it is the lesser of two evils.

I’ve been pulling for her for decades, because she is the single most important republican senator, regardless whether you are MAGA, RINO, or paleoconservative.

If you want to know if a senator is a republican look at whom they caucus with. Theirs is the agenda she empowers. She is a good republican
Maine can find republicans who would vote better than Collins, but they can’t get them elected - maybe to the governor’s office but not as senator.
