So they knowingly hire illegals. frick them.
Exactly. I would offer the company execs a fine only (no jail time) if they bring all employees into H1B by March. H1B can be expedited to 15day process for about $3k. There should be some punishment for knowingly hiring illegals over visa or Americans.
If they get started on the paperwork now, they can probably make it without the expedited fee.

No way they would get H1B.
I believe these would be H2-A visas which has a different and quicker process.

Strange, because the 4 years we had the worst immigration problem we also had the worst inflation problem.
More immigrants didn’t help with lowering grocery prices sport.
But go ahead - convince yourself that raising the cost of a major input into food production WON'T be inflationary.

Another thing to consider in this comparison
If Biden let in 10 million immigrants over 4 years. Thats 2.5 million per year.
Us population is estimated 334 million in 2024 and was 329 million in 2020.
That's a 0.7% increase per year due to illegal immigration.
Compared that to the yearly deficit spending jumps.(2015 was .44 trillion, 2019 was .98 trillion) 100%+ increase under trump by 2019. Then exploding in 2020 up 200%+ that year alone(.98-3.13 trillion) , 2021 and on its been coming down but not very quickly compared to 2015. (2021 2.78- 2024 estimate 1.86).
This to me is a better explanation for significant change in our economy than the .7% increase in people.

Did they knowingly hire illegal immigrants?
So what, give the the consequences for their actions.

How many of these illegals have been dutifully paying taxes on their wages?
Yeah that's what I thought.
Yeah that's what I thought.

of course they do.. if you could hire someone for a quarter of the cost of an american and face no legal consequences, then you go low cost

Nearly half of the nation's approximately 2 million farm workers lack legal status,
So, this means there are at least 1 million US Citizens that will do this work... Funny we have been told US Citizens will not do this work...

Big Food should never have been allowed to use illegals, but they had the cover of GovCo who wanted them for their votes. Insidious.

Yep. Go get some South Africans. You may pay a little more in labor, but I bet your production and yields will go up.

I think Trumps administration will be pushing back regulations so we can have more small local farms run by American families , rather then large farms full of illegal immigrants.

Not here in Louisiana. They come and check and inspect the housing. You better not get caught with one.
This article is gaslighting.

If those workers are legal, why would the farmers be whining?
Because there are farmers who are lazy pieces of shite and have not gone through the proper channels to get legal migrants here with work visas.

They mean their indentured servants.

So how exactly would Trump be able to do this? Will he take land from corporate farming conglomerates and give it to families so they can farms small lots?
My parents on both sides grew up on family farms. Their parents were farmers. No one in the full extended family still owns and farms family land. Trump can't change that.
