Here is a problem the 20 is going to run into. They need to offer a viable candidate for SotH. Those votes not McCarthy are just protest votes and that is why you keep seeing a revolving list of who they vote for. No one has stepped and started a serious campaign for the Speakership. If people are going to move off of McCarthy they need a candidate that they can get behind and right now, there is not one.
Scalise. He just doesn't know it yet.
I said that yesterday, but until there is a viable alternative, this is just for show.

I believe this will happen once serious bloodletting of KM has taken place. You don’t push forward your candidate until you’ve mortally wounded him. That will happen when he goes and makes a deal with Dems. All those fence sitters still voting for him will jump ship in droves and it will be over for him

It's all about money and somewhat about power.
I promise you MTG is creaming herself over a committee position for one of those expense accounts.
They all are.

This is a great speech but is he going to actually nominate someone?

Live look at Kevin McCarthy's temporary Speaker of the House office.

Rosendale was solid.
Just saw Burgess Owens on for an interview and he can’t even speak to why he supports “Kevin.” “I am new here, so I don’t know the rules, but Kevin is good.”

So was Kevin Hern nominated before this round?
Posted on 1/5/23 at 2:43 pm to GumboPot
I thought so.
Lauren : We were told-"You won't receive a committee unless you vote for McCarthy."

No but I believe Boebert voted for him a round or two ago.
