My brother just sent me a message that they are picking up the phone in Steve Scalise’s office. Tell him to stop voting for McCarthy and move on to another nominee:

Everyone needs to understand that he's the number 2 in GOP House leadership, and there is an absolutely zero, negative infinity chance of Scalise doing this until McCarthy steps aside.

Your calls will be ignored.

Then he needs to encourage McCarthy to stand down.

Supporting mccarthy making deals with the dems instead of the congressmen and women who represent constituents from his own party is 100% unacceptable.

I agree. Expecting him to do so publicly is a fools errand.

I hope they get to a point that they rally around Byron Donalds.

Kevin not only has his Speaker office set up. But the direct speed dial numbers for the chamber of commerce & Paul Ryan.

So the deal if they so choose to make it: Will be Kevin controlling Byron as best he can. They will put in a special FBI request to set him up and label him "Russian Disinformation a danger to our democracy."

But no one will fall for it again. They know it. So 21 people are making the Deep State shake in their pretentious loafers. They know no one cares what Hannity, Newt, or Trump even...thinks.

So they will compromise Scalise. And Gaetz will say NO! WHAT PART OF WE WANT NEW non-establishment LEADERSHIP DON'T YOU GET?

Did Trump really fall for the text that Boehner probably sent him saying it's Kevin or they will get a Paul Ryan? When Kevin IS Paul Ryan on speed-dial.

Gaetz will vote for Scalise. Scalise helped him on the campaign trail every time he has run. They have a good relationship.

Congressional weekend plans about to be ruined.

Here is a problem the 20 is going to run into. They need to offer a viable candidate for SotH. Those votes not McCarthy are just protest votes and that is why you keep seeing a revolving list of who they vote for. No one has stepped and started a serious campaign for the Speakership. If people are going to move off of McCarthy they need a candidate that they can get behind and right now, there is not one.

Since Jordan has refused it they have moved on to Byron Donalds and consistently voted for him. I don't know why Gaetz went with the Trump vote but Donalds does seem to be their choice now.

Trump must have been told he goes to prison in solitary for life unless he got behind Kevin.

Just when I typed my last reply with the chamber of commerce in mind.

Look what I saw next. K Street and silver hair. Although I am not sure Sundance wrote this this morning and Gaetz is really playing ballsy chicken?

According to Politico, the Congressional Leadership Fund (team McCarthy) has come to an agreement with the Club for Growth Fund (team not McCarthy) and worked out a deal the representatives may be permitted to support. The deal “includes a vote on term limits for members, more seats for Freedom Caucus members on the powerful House Rules Committee and allowing a single member to force a vote on ousting the speaker.” The voting continues today.
quote:

The legislative construct passes from K-Street into the halls of congress through congressional committees. The law originates from the committee to the full House or Senate. Committee seats which vote on these bills are therefore more valuable to the lobbyists. Chairs of these committees are exponentially more valuable.

No legislation provided by outside interests means no work for lobbyists who sell it. No work means no money. No money means no expense accounts. No expenses mean politicians paying for their own indulgences etc.

In the aftermath of President Trump winning the 2016 election, politicians on both sides were not happy – but the issue was actually bigger. No K-Street expenditures also means no personal benefit; and no opportunity to advance financial benefit from the insider trading system.

Without the ability to position personal wealth for benefit, why would a politician stay in office? The income of many long-term politicians on both Republican and Democrat sides of the aisle was completely disrupted by President Trump winning the election. That is one of the key reasons why so many politicians retired immediately thereafter.

When we understand the business of DC, we understand the difference between legislation with a traditional purpose and modern legislation with a financial and political agenda.

Now they have added Kern to the latest list . Byron Donalds has not done any campaigning for the Speakership and has not done anything to indicate he is in for it. Remember, the Republican conference is somewhat diverse and each have their own wants, not just the 20.

McCarthy will have to withdraw. He just does not have the votes.
